I am a little confused. When I read the other reviews, the food sounds and looks amazing. Unfortunately, our experience was not so amazing. The staff were friendly, the restaurant clean and the setting was elegant, we did have to wait for a while for our food to arrive. But somehow the food just wasn't right somehow. We ordered the octopus pasta salad as a starter and then the catch of the day of red snapper and grouper plus the prawn and squid ink pasta for our mains. The octopus starter had a flavouring which over powered the octopus somehow, I am not sure what it was but I normally love octopus and I didn't enjoy the taste. The pasta element of the salad was very bland. For the mains, the prawns were a little dry and again the pasta which accompanied it was bland which was such a shame. Finally the local catch of the day was fileted badly so we were left with having to spend a long time picking out all the bones, the presentation was also messy and the side vegetable portions were so small they seemed more like a garnish. The fish tasted really bitter and unpleasant like chemicals had been added. I don't know why because it was fresh. My thoughts are that when they showed us the raw fish they were allocating to us, they held it using some sort of wet cloth which I think may have been those lemon hand sanitizer cloths they hand out to customers who may need to use their hands whilst eating. I think that possibly that was the flavour transferred to the fish skin and then grilled. Anyway, despite very high hopes, we unfortunately left the restaurant hungry and disappointed because the portions were not filling and the price was high for what you get so despite aiming to stay for dessert we felt it better to cut our losses and just pay the bill after our mains.

The foie gras was the most amazing thing i have ever tasted. We ordered it two times. The octopus with olive oil was like nothing i have ever tasted before. The cake with strawberries and pistachios WAS AMAZING. Everything was perfect amazing spot amazing food. Everything is local and fresh. 100% recommend.

We got this restaurant recommended by our hotel and also saw good ratings on google maps and a listing in guide Michelin. So we thought let’s give it a try to taste local cuisine. Let’s start with the dessert: the mille feuille was great. The Patissier knows his business. One of the main courses was not: The veal was laced with fat (the group from the next table mentioned the same issue). The polenta had a special taste and consistency (maybe it was made the Corsican way from chestnut flour instead of corn). The added gamba was nice. The second dish - lamb covered in a baked (or fried?) ‚roll’ with sweet potato purée was just not our taste. The starters: Grouper carpaccio looked nice but slices were too thick and chewy (our expectation would be for it to be super thin and buttery soft - maybe the wrong type of fish to be used for a carpaccio). Second starter: salad filled with some fried (fish?), aged hard cheese, egg, sauce was tasty. The recommended local red wine by the glass as well as the champagne by the glass was nothing out of the ordinary to be mentioned. Service was fast, friendly and helpful (even in English) Overall: we got fed, food looked appealing, ingredients are fresh, no artificial flavoring, cooking skills were clearly noticeable, the taste was personally not ours, the quality of the meat (although fresh) did not come up to our expectations. So it’ll rather be an adieu and not an au revoir. Price for one big bottle of water, 2 glasses of champagne, 2 glasses of red wine, two starters, two main dishes (meat), one dessert, two tea, two complimentary limoncello - 165 Euro.

Food and wine very good. We had fresh fish, and it was cooked very well. Desserts also good. Plus you don't have to climb the steps!

The stuffed squid with risotto was really tasty! The aubergine for starter was also good but a bit pricey for what you get. The vibe is nice and I’d go back there to try to lunch menu which had options that I really wanted to try and weren’t available in the dinner menu.

Absolute favourite in Bonifacio!!! Very delicious food!!! The veal course - a new dish and the ‘cheesecake’ dessert was divine!!! Very helpful & kind owners/staff!! (Would go back tomorrow but they are closed on Sundays) Don’t miss if you’re in Bonifacio!!!
