Guérande is definitely worth a visit. We visited during the second week of September and the town was not busy. The 15th century fortified wall of Guérande is one of the best preserved and complete in France. Its circumference stretches 1434 meters. Access to the town is through one of the four fortified gates. Once inside you immediately step back in time, with wonderful historic churches and buildings. The walled town is small and easy to walk around. There are plenty of interesting shops and restaurants/cafes where you can sit and watch the world go by. There are a number of carparks outside the walls.

A hidden gem of a town. If this place was in the UK it would be a huge tourist attraction. Beautiful medieval walled town.

Totally free to access, take a step back in 1530 with this amazing fortified city of Guerande. Learn everything about the harvesting of the salt and visit the church. The littlest stores offer a vast variety of souvenirs. Try one of the "crêperie" for lunch or dinner, but make sure to be here early enough or you won't get a table. None of them take reservation.

Absolutely stunning, a very well preserved piece of history filled with history and culture, you can walk around the town or visit the walls as if you were in medieval times.

We visited this medieval City on a Saturday in Aug, we stopped at the Motorhome Aire which is an easy 10min walk. We loved this place, full of interesting independent shops, and cafes and bars, and it would seem a Creperie at virtually every corner. On a Saturday there was the market in full swing, very busy and buzzing, but still places to explore quietly, or sit and have a coffee.

Lovely to walk around the old town, seems to be from the set of Harry Potter. Loads of little shops and the old architecture was fantastic.

Very nice and historical place, it was worth to see. They put the city inside a castle. Some people have some stores and some of them are living in it.

Very pretty medieval walled town. Very touristy but lovely nonetheless.
