What a stunning building! We visited for the Matisse exhibition (which I didn't really enjoy) Had to queue up to enter the building for that. Spent more time exploring the Grand Palais building and wished that we could have seen more up close. It's beautiful.
One of my favourite places in Paris. The building is spectacular it self, excellent museum shops and thoughtful exhibitions. It was super easy to buy my ticket online with a timed entry. There was no wait. A must do in Paris. A great place to sit and journal too.
Grand Palais is a surprisingly calm and elegant place to visit. There were far fewer tourists than expected, which made the experience relaxed and unhurried. The atmosphere feels refined rather than crowded, allowing you to appreciate the classic architecture, graceful proportions, and historical details. A beautiful space that invites slow wandering instead of rushing through.
One of the iconic buildings of Paris. have seen better palaces or museums in Paris. Still good vibes and a lot of exhibitions. Always better to go in the evening when there is an event in its grand hall with light shows.
Caught The Grand Tour at the Grand Palais on May 3–4 and it did not disappoint. Incredible cars in one of the most beautiful buildings in Paris. But honestly, the Grand Palais is worth a visit regardless of what’s on — we’ve seen it host everything from ice skating to art to fashion. Whatever brings you through the doors, the space itself is the experience. Highly recommend.
Went there to saw the Matisse exhibition without a reservation/ pre booked ticket. We were told it’s sold out/ full at the entrance so there is no chance we can enter. Checked online and was able to book tickets on the official website for 25€ instead of the 19€ tickets for the fixed time slot and was allowed to enter. Stupid system but at least we got inside and saw the beautiful exhibition. Almost no queue to enter but as expected a lot of people inside.
Beautiful old structure, now being used to house visual art shows while Pompidou Center is being rehabbed. We saw two terrific shows here. Easy to get to from Metro #9 line or from Champs Elysees if you’re into shopping (we’re not).
I visited in the middle of the week at the end of March. You have access to the building (except the exhibits you didn’t pay for) but the main glass dome is NOT open to the public for the moment do to repair work. The smaller ones are open and super gorgeous. The Matisse exhibition was beautiful and understandably crowded. I couldn’t get online ticket because it was sold out, but I tried my luck and went to the ticket office regardless and they DID have some extra tickets available.
