Nice little building, but don't expect too see anything "Mainstream" in here. His most famous works are all around the word. What I like the most of his works are his ceramics and tapestries, so I was pleased to find them in here. I'll praise the bathrooms, they were quite clean and well stocked. If you're a passing tourist with a Interest in cubism and Picasso then I recommend you to check it out.
My family saw the entirety of the premises in a little over an hour in a private guided tour. The artworks are impressive and exhibitions included artists other than Picasso though his works of course comprised the vast majority of the presentation. The site is perfectly sized in terms of being walkable without significant difficulty, as one member of our party was physically impaired and unable to walk/stand for extended periods. It also presents breathtaking views of the sea from its outer decks and surrounding areas.
I visited the Picasso Museum in Antibes, and it was a truly inspiring experience. The museum is located in a beautiful historic building, and the atmosphere perfectly complements Picasso’s artworks. The collection offers a great insight into his creative periods, and the setting by the sea makes the visit even more special. It’s a must-see place for art lovers and anyone interested in modern art history.
The top floor and studio on the third floor are devoted to picasso and his time at Antibes. You can find art by him that I’ve never seen anywhere else. the ground floor was closed during our visit, the first floor exhibits the museum‘s collection. Great view from the terrace! It‘s well worth a visit - count on spending about 90 minutes for an extensive visit!
Lovely Picasso museum. Must visit if in Antibes. You learn a lot about his time there and get up close to many of his works. It’s a self guided tour but there are QR codes and plenty of stories written on the walls. Plenty of his paintings, drawings and sculpture work as well as photographs. Beautiful rooftop with great view and sculptures. Washrooms were clean. No fogs and no food or drink allowed inside.
A must see in Antibes but perfectly doable in an hour. Small museum with Picasso works on the top floor and a terrace with sculptures. Expect to queue but it went fairly quickly. Centrally placed so perfect to add into a day trip.
The museum is overall an okay experience. It features a number of interesting paintings and installations from Picasso, all set within a beautiful old castle-like building which adds to the atmosphere. The outdoor area is also very nice, with statues and art installations overlooking the sea, which is a highlight. The staff at the ticket desk were very friendly and helpful, which made the visit more pleasant. For the negatives, it does feel a bit expensive for what is on offer, as you can get around the museum quite quickly and there is not a huge amount to see. The toilets were also a bit dirty and had an unpleasant smell. Overall, a nice setting with some good artwork, but slightly underwhelming for the price.
The staff were friendly, but I was disappointed by the small number of paintings on display. Personally, I found the work by other artists more impressive than the Picasso collection itself. Given the limited selection, it didn't feel worth the €12 entry fee.
