Personell was charming and welcoming. Room for three a little bit narrow and quiet. No elevator. Good shower, AC and USB plugs and AC. Breakfast was poor and lacked attention. Nice garden with parking. With a little bit of more care in the breakfast would have been perfect.
I stayed just one night off peak. Nice view of the river and mountains beyond. It's a 2 star hotel so extensive amenities are not to be expected - the essentials are all there (plus a few helpful extras). Location on the main road (but traffic could barely be heard). Plenty of off road parking. Highlight was the friendly and helpful staff. Top tip is to book directly for the best price - by far (I did it when I arrived... note that the Reception closes for the evening). Buffet breakfast was fine for the price.
We are a big family with 4 kids and we found this hotel with a family room. All beds in the same area, but ok. The place is not high quality standards but for the price you are paying, you are getting a fair service. It's very close to the border between Spain and France, but especially very close to St. Jean de Luz. So if you want to enjoy the city this might be a good cheap option because it's easy to get there by car.
The public areas have been renovated and are very nice but both the rooms we had, one facing the main road, one the garden/bridge were very dated and basic even by the standard of modern budget hotels. The staff were very pleasant and the dinner and breakfast OK but overall, and compared both to other places we've stayed in the Pyrenees this week and even in Paris recently, I felt our stay was overpriced for what it was.
Well located on main road, short walk to the town. Good room with balcony overlooking the river. Room at the back so very quiet. Interesting little town with many eateries. Very helpful receptionist for keeping my bike safe and lending me cutlery, etc. Got very good rate from Booking.
It was a very small room. The bathroom was as small as the ones in a ship or a plane . Low services for the price. No lift available. We had to carry our luggage up to the third room. The location was good. we also appreciate the air-conditioning.
stayed1 night in this hotel in september. When I read these reviews it's strange that some people are very pleased and others very disappointed. I can only confirm bad smell, poor breakfast (no personnel present at 7:30, breakfast room closed), noisy room, dirty bathroom, restaurant closed, no Wifi. The owner says he just bought the hotel and was unaware of all the inconveniences/problems. All problems are being listed and will be solved. The owner pretended to be unaware of the bad smell in the room, but the window was open and incense sticks were on the table. Hard to believe what this man is telling.... He promised us he would not allow other people in the room until the problem was solved. I can only conclude that multiple rooms must have bad smell or the owner is not a trustworthy person.
So so hotel, easy to find but basic rooms and very poor noise insulations between rooms. It's easy to find on the road from St Jean de Luz and maybe if the restaurant re-opens it will be nicer on the terrace.
