Richard and Christine were incredibly welcoming and looked after our special requests with no problems at all. The property is a lovely old chateau and is nestled in its own valley. The only sounds you hear is the abundant wildlife. The rooms were very nice and comfortable and the cellar pool is magical. We had a home cooked meal, from Christine, one evening and it did not disappoint. All in all a really relaxing stay and we felt very looked after. We will be back!
This is a complete gem of a hotel! Christine and Richard are the warmest and most charming hosts - so welcoming! The rooms were very large and the included breakfast was wonderful. Couldn’t recommend this more highly!
We've stayed here several times now and on each occasion, our host and hostess (Richard and Christine) surpass themselves with their first class hospitality, attention to detail and generosity of their time and thoughtfulness. The rooms are spotlessly clean, whilst the bed linen and towels are of the highest quality. Breakfasts and dinner will delight you and the environs of the grounds are the greatest escape into a tranquil world that you could ask for. We will be returning for sure!
If you stay here, it will be the hardest place to leave! The whole stay felt like a dream it was so perfect. The grounds are picturesque and peaceful. The château is beautifully restored and comfortable. Richard and Christine are incredible hosts - so kind, attentive and knowledgeable. The breakfasts are incredible - we felt like royalty! And you must must must stay for dinner - Christine is an incredible chef who is not only talented but puts love and inspiration into every dish. Having dinner was a highlight of our entire stay whilst traveling through France! I could go on for a long time but the gist is, this is a gem and I can't wait til we stay again!
What amazing hospitality. From the delightful crystal decanter of Sherry waiting us for us in the room when we arrived, to the geniality of the hosts. Nothing was too much trouble, the food was excellent, the spa facilities are gorgeous and the host Robert even helped ease my trapped nerve with his magical hands.
We spent one night here at Christine and Richards. She is a wonderful hostess. Their chateau is an eclectic mix of English and French decorating. Christine provided a full dinner and a wonderful breakfast. The grounds with peacocks are delightful to walk about. Ask for the room with the full four poster king bed. Large and luscious. Bathrooms have been remodeled and are great.
Christine and Richard made us feel so comfortable and we loved staying here for a week. The chateau is completely charming and also perfect for animal lovers (geese, peacocks, dogs, cats, etc.)! It's perfectly quiet and well away from any roads, and only a short car ride from some extremely pretty villages like Montignac, Hautefort or Saint-Léon-sur-Vézère. We had planned to do a lot more driving but the chateau and its grounds were so lovely that we barely wanted to leave. You can truly make yourself at home here - have picnics, use their BBQ, etc. Both pools and the jacuzzi were also wonderful. Special mention for the breakfast - a selection of cheeses, fruits, dairy, veggies from the garden, and available all day! A stunning terrace to enjoy it on too, overlooking their impressive grounds and lake.
This is Perigeaux's best kept secret! Everything is as promised and more. Total privacy in both pools, all rooms, exceptional quality 1000 thread sheets and bedding, grounds absolutely quiet. No stray lights, so the stars and Milky Way are clearly visible. There's a cottage one can rent with a double bed, too. If you like animals, you'll love it even more. Richard and Christine are fabulous cooks, and the breakfast eggs are fresh from their chicken coop. Do yourself a favor and come here. Only one negative: you won't want to leave!
