Truly stunning in all aspects, very much worthy of the star. The decor and ambiance set the scene as soon as you enter. Wonderfully attentive team (who speak English, which adds to the experience for non/partial Francophones!). Exquisite tastes throughout. My favourite of all was the chocolate cased final dessert. So good I forgot to take a picture. Visited today for lunch. Will be back !
Had lunch today at this Michelin one-star restaurant in Montpellier — super convenient location near the old town! Overall, it was a nice experience. The dishes were creative, delicate, and well-executed, though not mind-blowingly amazing. But the value is great — only €59! It started with several small bites: The first was a chestnut “cream” soup, but actually more like a foam with chestnut bits. On top was a little biscuit — not really tasty but quite interesting haha! Another small bite was made with zucchini, topped with fish roe and yuzu — tangy and refreshing, with cream in the middle. The flavor was somewhere between savory and dessert, again, not particularly delicious. They also served some bread with fancy-looking but rather flavorless butter — at that point I thought, “uh oh, this might go downhill.” 😂 But then came the two appetizers — and I loved both! ✌️ The first one looked like a flower. The white part seemed to be potato, with herb ice cream in the center. It wasn’t sweet but super aromatic, highlighting the fresh flavor of potato and delicate truffle slices. The second was like a squid dumpling — the filling was tender squid pieces, and the wrapper reminded me of an egg dumpling, but bouncy and soft! The green sauce had a lovely hint of shiso (perilla). For the main course, I chose Beef from Aubrac, apparently a well-known French beef. It came with beet rolls topped with shrimp-roe crumbs. The beef was extremely tender — unlike any texture I’ve had before — very lean, soft, and juicy without much fat (personally not my favorite). The doneness was perfect though, and overall it was quite good, just not outstanding. Desserts were both really nice! The first one featured pear, coated with a thin layer of caramelized sugar, filled with pear chunks and chestnut cream — perfectly balanced sweetness and very seasonal! The second dessert was a black olive ice cream — incredibly fragrant 🥹 probably the most aromatic olive ice cream I’ve ever had. Undern
Wow! I would highly recommend this restaurant. In my two visits to France, this has been my best meal by far. I have been fortunate to dine at multiple Michelin-starred restaurants around the world, including Singapore, South Korea, France, and USA. In my previous experiences at these other restaurants, there was typically at least one dish that wasn’t quite successful. My experience at Leclère was different. I enjoyed every single dish! They were all delicious and well-balanced. The service was excellent. On top of that, I had a train to catch after my meal and they were able to accommodate my schedule very graciously.
It was an amazing night, amazing experience. We loved everything we ate and the staff was beyond helpful and friendly.
This has to be the best value for money I’ve ever been to. The ambiance is very laid back but classy. The set menu was very tasty and balanced. Wine menu is very approachable and not overpriced. Highly recommend! Great time here.
Truly perfect. Thank you for all the love and my birthday was just unforgettable! My wife and I had a moment that will last forever. We will be back! Keep up this wonderful work. See you soon!
Both the decoration and the atmosphere are excellent! Delicious and exquisite meals, multi-layered taste and flavor can feel the chef's intentions, such an outstanding restaurant is worth a special visit, and I will definitely come again in the future.
Our meal at Leclere was superb! We were there on September 7, 2017. Before our trip to France we had carefully selected all the restaurants we wanted to experience, including restaurants with Michelin stars, and among them all Leclere was one of our best meals. The food was fresh, delicious, and innovative - eating it was like being one of the lucky people dining on food on BravoTV's Top Chef series in the US. Every single dish was mouthwateringly good. And the experience itself was lovely; there was just one waiter serving the restaurant inside *and* the terrace outside, and though all our dishes were served at just the right times, at no point did he ever seem rushed. He took the time to talk with us and was very accommodating of my gluten allergy, which I know can be a great nuisance to a chef. (It certainly is to me!) Note for other Americans: he spoke excellent English though he was also kind enough to speak French with me despite my limited vocabulary. A wonderful experience!
