Beware they take a booking from the app for chambery airport when in fact you have to take a cab into chambery itself - another €80 just to get there and back - they charge you out of hours charges if you arrive between 12:30 and 13:30 as the whole shop shuts for ‘lunch’ - no communication at all on that one - the car was filthy inside and out - DO NOT USE they will rip you off

I recently rented a vehicle from your company and was extremely disappointed with the fuel charge policy. I returned the car with an empty tank, but the refueling cost applied was excessively high—nearly 2.5 times the market rate. The additional charges were almost equal to the weekly rental fee itself. This pricing approach feels unfair and misleading. Unless this policy is reconsidered, I will not be using your services again and will be sharing my experience with others in my network.

We had called the office prior to booking the rental and were told we could not hire a car for one-way rental. We needed to drive north to Calais from Chambery. We made our booking online instead and when we collected the car that day the lady in the office was very abrupt and told us we had “bypassed the system and had no choice but to give us the car”. She then told us that our last minute request meant we had a dirty car as they had no time to clean it. The car had many minor dinks and scratches so it appeared to have been well used. We hired this car due to unfortunate circumstances with our own vehicle breaking down and felt the service was not sympathetic or considerate to our situation. We had two children who were feeling very uncomfortable in a car that was very much “pushed” at us. French Europcar services would not be used by ourselves again. English Europcar services once we arrived in Dover were very accommodating and helpful.

Pleasant, friendly staff. Good car. Good honest approach to pre or post rental damage. Would have given a 10/10 except for the 1200-1400 déjeuner break.

beware that if you rent through a broker, the agency will not necessarily apply those conditions. Their relation with the broker is apparently limited to let them lure you in with nice conditions. Making sure that those conditions are truthful and respected is only the client's problem.

Returned car to Chambery Gare and left key at Mercure which is co located with the Europcar office , I was charged "out of hours" , this appears very harsh under the circumstances.
