Stayed an extra night I liked it so much. If you want a small hotel this meets the bill. Shutters and thick walls make up for no air con even when it was 33 C. Eric the host is a very laid back and friendly sort, letting us use the washing machine and helping ourselves to the milk etc throughout the day. The place has charm.

Very warm welcome, owner got in his car to show us a place to park the car. He gave us a "suite" in a very old fashioned style , with a giant bubblebath and a giant porcelain washstand. Note : soaps bathrobes,1time-use slippers,electric kettle ,teas,coffee. Super quiet ,gardenside. Breakfast is for buffetstyle super compleet. Next year Braderie de Lille weekend we will book suite Madame Sans-Gene again.

We were 9 cyclists staying for 2 nights to tour the area. The proprietor couldn't have been more helpful in providing storage space for the bikes and generally looking after our comforts. Breakfast was modest and staying here made our short break very pleasant. Only an hour from Calais which was a big bonus for us.

I stayed there this week as part of a group on a business trip. The manageress seemed very friendly although despite a sign saying that the spoke English she did not seem to. I had a room facing a central courtyard and I found it very comfortable. The room was large with a large well equipped bathroom and shower room. This bit seemed a new part of the hotel. The only strange thing was that they had put the bed right in the middle of the room so that you could walk all around it rather than against the wall. I did not see the bill but am guessing that it was reasonably priced. I would certainly be happy to stay in that room again.||||One of our party stayed in the Marie Wakeska suite which apparently has a large circular water bed, bit over the top for a business trip and someone complained of being bitten by mosquitoes in the old part of the house and being kept awake by church bells but there is not much the hotel can do about the bells.||||My room was very clean and I slept well so marking it on my experience.

We stayed just 1 night here, purely as it was a dog friendly hotel, and close to the channel ports. |Our room was tastefully decorated in a retro style and big enough for us and our 2 spaniels. |Location wise it could not be more central to shops bars etc. We opted for breakfast which was not that good. The bread was frozen in the middle as were the croissants (fresh from the freezer that morning). Car parking is on the street outside the hotel, so it's not totally secure. |I thought it was our stay was a little over priced for what we got. I don't think I'd stop there again.

In the process of being refurbished, hotel has been in the family for a long time. Various room sizes styles very pleasant family.No parking on site however lots of places to park nearby.

No wardrobe. Scruffy desk with paint chipped off. Sink has seen better days. One soap one shower liquid tor double room. Smells of smoke. Generally in need of a facelift.||Lights did not work on lower stairway. Stained and worn carpet. Am mystified by the positive comments as this is one of the worst hotels that we have ever stayed in and as motorcycle tourers all over Europe we stay in very many.||Positive? Its near the centre.||||Disappointing

We were given a delightfully friendly, cheerful welcome at this easy to locate small hotel in the pleasant town of Armentieres. We were able to park immediately outside and the main square is very close by (very easy walking distance so park up and enjoy) together with bars and restaurants.|The rooms are functional and there is a pleasant walled garden, lounge and dining room/bar.|Breakfast is extra but more than adequate.|The warmth and friendliness of our greeting on arrival and the following morning are what really stood out.
