Innovative menu and cuisine. Slightly muddled service and very odd appetizer but everything else was excellent
What a great little gem of a restaurant situated in a quaint village. From the welcome to the good bye we received excellence in every regard. Food, creative, succulent, attractive and delicious. Service top notch, professionally attentive and happy staff Restaurant interior a very pleasant surprise. Modern tasteful with beautiful use of wood s as d great photos of the local area.
A long cherished wish, to visit the L'Orée du Bois in Condette, and we were thrilled. Remarkable cuisine, good wines and charming service. Whether monkfish, duck breast, jerusalem artichoke puree or truffle cheese, a pleasure...we will be back
Lovely place to go for a quiet meal in a not fancy place but with great food and lovely service. The host speaks English and we enjoyed chatting, also trying to improve our french language. Oh, and the appetizer, free from the house, was nice! Courgette creamy soup! Lived it 😋 We tried the fish - great, kidney - good, guinea fowl ( pictured) - very good. Haven't had much space for desert but thanks for the lovely lunch 😊
We stopped here for lunch on the way back to the Eurotunnel. What a gem! The restaurant is in a small village on the outskirts of Boulogne. The village itself is beautiful as you would expect of French villages. It felt like we were getting a fine dining experience but in completely relaxing and airy surroundings. On arrival, we were asked if we wanted to take aperitifs in the lounge. I wish we could have said yes as the lounge looked so cosy but, with 2 small ones, we knew our time was limited and opted to go straight to our table. The menu is small, but perfect. Between our group, we managed to order almost all choices on the menu and they were all executed, and presented to perfection. I wish we could have had space for dessert but we were full from the tapenade appetizer, amuse-bouche, starter and main 🙂 I hope we have another chance to come back. I think booking is essential - whilst we were there, a walk-in was turned away after asking if there was space for Sunday lunch.
Lovely restaurant and I'd recommend it to anyone whether you are a fan of french cuisine or not. The food is delicious and well presented. The waitresses are friendly and speak much better english than I do french. I've already booked my next visit and i'm looking forward to it!
