A truly memorable lunch at Le Bistro d’Hervé in old Agde — a Michelin-recognized kitchen (Bib Gourmand, two Fourchettes) that absolutely lives up to the billing. The meal opened with a complimentary seafood tapenade served alongside warm, herb-dusted crostini — an unexpected and gracious touch that set the tone. I followed with the avocado and shrimp: presented in a crisp golden crust with wasabi mayonnaise, spring onions, and lime. Bright, balanced, and quietly inventive. Then the main event — a thick, beautifully seared pork chop over silky mashed potato, finished with sautéed greens, shallots, and a deeply reduced jus I could have eaten by the spoonful. A minerally glass of local white wine was the perfect counterpoint, sharp enough to cut the richness without competing with it. Chef Hervé Dos Santos is doing serious, soulful, forward-thinking cooking in this small Languedoc town. If you can make your way to 47 rue Brescou, you will not be disappointed.
The food was well presented, tasty and enjoyable. Good service. I thought the entrées and desserts were quite expensive.
Super small portions. Steak of 32 euros had at most 150gm of meat and was tough as leather. I dont know how this appeared in the Michelin guide but it is not at all deserving.
When selecting a place for lunch you need to ensure you wont be disappointed. Being in the Michelin guide this restaurant was our first choice. The staff are friendly, inviting and they speak English. The menu of the day was excellent. Thank you team Le Bistro d’Herve.
A wonderful meal, with the highlights being the seasonal dishes which were simple yet exquisite. I adored the asparagus dish! Service was lovely and we can’t wait to come back already!
Great location with a good vibe. But I was a bit disappointed by the food. We had „Le Midi“ for lunch which is a three course menu which comes all by one on a plate. It was all a bit too simple. And the salmon had a lot of fat. The kids menu I liked more than ours
One of the greatest experience of the region. Le Bistro d'Hervé offers fresh, original and well-thought meals that are really worth of your money. The flavors are amazing and original. Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures.. They also have a great service, the owner looks passionate and Guillaume has a great sense of humor. In summary, I would greatly recommend this place
Dorade was delicious but I don’t recommend the cold leak and egg starter. Cod wasn’t very delicious either. Ladies were very nice. Not cheap. Elegant place.
