A truly remarkable place and an absolute highlight in Roubaix. La Piscine – Musée d’Art et d’Industrie is a former swimming pool that has been transformed into a museum with extraordinary creativity, and the result is simply stunning. The building alone is worth the visit. Walking through the former pool hall is a breathtaking experience—the architecture, light, and symmetry make it one of the most beautiful museum spaces you will ever see. Inside, the museum offers a rich and diverse mix: a permanent collection, temporary exhibitions, works by local artists, sculptures, and paintings. The variety keeps the visit engaging, even beyond the architectural wow-factor. As a bonus, the restaurant is excellent, making it a perfect place to combine culture and great food. An absolute must-visit—both for art lovers and for anyone who appreciates unique architecture.

Gorgeous museum - the gift that keeps on giving! My friend identified this as a must-visit on a weekend trip, while we were in Paris. We planned a couple days visit to Lille and made the trip out to the town the museum is located (30 min train ride out of Lille), lots of beautiful sculptures and paintings, centered around the pool as a new avenue for men and women to interact and socialize back in the day. The stained glass in the back of the pool is really lovely, especially around sunset. Every time we thought we had seen everything, there was a new room or section to explore. We visited between 2-4 pm on a Sunday, highly recommend since the entrance line grew a lot by the time we were heading out. Buy tickets online if possible. I wasn’t able to since the website link wasn’t working, but it was a quick process to purchase tickets in line.

What an amazing backdrop for a fantastic art exhibition. Stunning setting and a great mix of art ... something to suit every taste. The only things that let it down were the staff didn't seem very happy and the prices in tearoom were extremely high, that's if you can even get served in the first place. I would definitely recommend this place, albeit slightly off the beaten track.

So worth the short metro ride from the centre of Lille. Whilst I wish this beautiful building was still a swimming pool, its been given a remarkable new lease of life. Utterly charming, sympathetically done, with thoughtful exhibitions. My only caveat...the restaurant is a little too expensive & I wished for something simpler.

Awesome place for people who want a cultural walk, a bit pricey, but if you consider the size of the collection (paintings, sculptures, pencil sketches etc) and all the personnel, it's well spent ! The museum has a lot to offer and if you like teas, especially not common ones or to discovers new tastes, the tea shop is really awesome and near the exit of the museum. A beautiful place but you'll have difficulties to see everything if you like to read and get interested in everything like me x3

A large art museum based around an old public swimming pool. The pool itself is the star of the show with large stained windows at each end that shine onto the simulated pool area in the middle of the old pool. Along the side of the pool are the old changing rooms made out of glazed bricks. These small rooms display a range of art, much of which linked to the pool or design changes in swimwear. The museum is free on the first Sunday of the month. The gallery has a cafe which looks good but a little expensive.

Outstanding art gallery, ceramics paintings and statuary Well worth the metro travelling from Lille to Roubaix. Miss out the gallery cafe go to 7 rue de Chemin for a gorgeous cafe on the way to the station.

If you love Art Deco, it's worth the metro ride from Lille (25 min). Truly interesting on how the preserved and utilized parts of the original swimming pool. Plus, they have 2 Raoul Dufy paintings (big fan of the artist)
