ATELIER MATISSE

Five stars for a smalll museum. No entrance charge. This is a hidden gem! Little-known, it’s a small municipal museum right in the centre of Vallauris (which is a fun little village to walk around and visit in summer, but that is another story). It is entirely dedicated to the work of Jean Marais, and is located in the place that used to be his gallery. It’s small. Two lovely large rooms contain sculptures, paintings, prints and drawings – so I’d guess a few dozens in all. Most of them are wonderful works of art, I got a real lift from discovering them (there are just a few representative photos attached). A third room is used for films, which are not for me. And it’s air conditioned! You can sometimes find on-street parking nearby, and there are car parks a short walk away.

Какое счастье , что наконец-то создали центр Жана Марэ, которого в России почитают как великого актера , на чьи фильмы бежали и стояли в очередях , чтобы погрузиться в мир ,рыцарской романтики и юмора ,который создавал актер. И все бесплатно для посетителей. Отдельно рекомендуем посетить могилу артиста, которая в 3 минутах ходьбы от центра. Именно в этом центре Жан Марэ продавал свои работы как художник и скульптор. И под видом высокого седовласого красавца не все узнавали символ Франции кем он был для всех. В центре есть даже небольшой кинозал , где крутят фильмы с ним.

C'est une belle découverte que cet espace dédié à Jean Marais. Je pensais assez bien connaître l'acteur et ses autres talents et j'ai encore appris ! L'espace est bien conçu et la personne chargée de nous accueillir, nous a parfaitement guidée. Bravo à elle pour son professionnalisme !

Magnifique musée consacrée à l'oeuvre de Jean Marais.... Une belle découverte, vraiment ! D ailleurs, nous y retournons avec plaisir dès que nous venons séjourner à Vallauris.
