Le Manoir de Mathan stands out as something special. The hosts and their family are wonderfully warm, and the service staff could not have been friendlier. From the moment I arrived I felt genuinely looked after rather than just checked in. Because the main house was fully booked, I was placed in one of the outbuildings, and this turned out to be a fantastic upgrade. The estate itself is beautiful, and my room was simply stunning. Breakfast was very good and rounded out the experience nicely. The kindness of everyone here was exceptional, and I always felt like a valued guest. I will absolutely return.
We’ve come to Crepon for years -- as a convenient location for exploring the beaches of Normandy -- but decided to try out Mathan last year, and were very pleased. Koen and Isabelle did a great job with this property, too, and our junior suite was very spacious, tastefully decorated, well-appointed and very comfortable, and a good value. The bed was very comfortable with quality linens, and the setting very quiet. The bath was large and spotless, with nice fixtures, a large towel warmer, and a good shower. The breakfast buffet had a good array of offerings, and omelette offered, as well — which was quite good — service was friendly and gracious. We highly recommend.
Love, love, love. We stayed here after visiting the Normandy American Cemetery and Omaha beach. The Manoir is a little bit of a drive from those landmarks but really worth it. We stayed in the “les apartments prestige” which was amazing. Three giant bedrooms with really good bathrooms and showers. Perfect for us (two adults, three older kids). The property is beautiful and charming and breakfast was lovely. Wish we could have stayed longer!
What a lovely place! From the second we arrived we were warmly welcomed by Isabelle and her crew. We reserved a suite which was beyond any of our expectations- American standard- large room with a very comfy sitting area, separate toilets and a large walk in shower and bathtub . Their breakfast was equally wonderful with a large variety from made to order eggs, French pastries , breads, yogurts etc. We are absolutely coming back!! Highly recommend this place.
A beautiful manor house with well appointed rooms. The breakfast is very good and reasonably priced. The grounds of the manor are restful. There is plenty of on site parking and free wifi. We came in the spring so it hasn’t warmed up yet but we were able to enjoy wine on our patio area. This hotel is close to Bayeux and the Normandy beaches.
We had a lovely stay here for 4 nights, a good location for visiting the Normandy battle sites and Calvados / Cidre tasting. Centrally located for our trips to Bayeux and Mont St Michelle in one direction and Honfleur in the other. February is low season but great if you want to avoid other tourists ..and daffodils were already flowering. Staff were very friendly, breakfast excellent and and the room was very comfortable.
A beautifully restored farm manor house. We slept in 17th Century splendor with 21st Century amenities. Welcoming staff; good food; memorable setting.
My two adult sons and I had a Suite and Jr. Suites and loved them. They're beautifully decorated, spacious and comfortable with pastoral views of the back of the property. I felt like royalty. The bed was extremely comfortable and there was a table where we could play cards as a little afternoon break. The staff were lovely. Would highly recommend.
