I didn't enjoy the stay at the hotel. The room was clean and very comfortable. The housekeeping staff were friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was not worth €15. You'd have a hard time eating that much of anything they put out. We arrived at the hotel a little early of their posted check-in time. One way that a hotel might make you feel welcome is if the people at the desk greet you warmly, with a smile, and check to see if perhaps the room was available an hour early. What difference would that make? I get it that they have stated check-in times, but with most hotels, they will attempt to find out if your room is available. Not here! The attendant at the desk did not make us feel welcome. She did not check, did not try to make the customer happy. The tone of the check-in was Kafkaesque. If I had to guess, I would bet the employees are warned to follow the policy, no matter what, probably warned to not deviate for any reason, not even to make the customers feel welcomed and appreciated. Maybe the room was ready, maybe not, but checking seems to be a better policy. Later in the afternoon, I went down to the lobby to make a phone call. The chairs in the lobby are adjacent to where the attendant station is, so I walked over to a table near the window in the breakfast area, a bit distant from the check in desk, to sit in an empty area and make my phone call. The desk attendant came over and told me I couldn't sit in that empty area and motioned for me to sit in one of the chairs near her desk. I suppose I could have asked if there was a policy that guests can't sit in the breakfast room near the window in the afternoon, but I went outside to make my call instead. (This was a different attendant, they'd had a shift change.) None of this is over the top, nor a deal-breaker, but neither does it make one feel welcomed, nor appreciated as a customer. It takes the "hospitality" out of the "hospitality industry." So the hotel is fine to stay, if you don't mind the cold, pre
The hotel is well located, right next to the town's center and there is a parking right up front, which is very convenient. The hotel itself is nothing fancy and needs to be renovated. The overall impression is that nothing has been done in the last 20 years at least. The room was very basic but clean and the AC worked just fine, which was critical in the summer heat. We were mostly annoyed about the fact that the terrace swimming pool closes that 08:30 PM, as well as the garden in front of the hotel facing the river. This made absolutely no sense to us as we could have enjoyed both the pools and the garden precisely after a long day walking in the town. We complained to the reception who mentionned that they were aware of the inconvenience but that the owners were worried about noisy hotel guests in these areas. We felt a little bit like we were treated like misbehaviing children when all we wanted was to enjoy the aminities on site. They could at least push the curfew to 10:00 PM, like in most hotels. Also, the reception area is closed several hours around mid day and we found that most unusual, although it didn't bother us. It seems that the owners are trying to save money in every way possible in this hotel, and don't really try to provide an enjoyable experience to their guests. The receptionist was however very friendly and helpful. Overall, a decent place to stay but not a hotel I would really recommend and certainly not worthy of the three stars it has got!
Great location but the hotel is old and need renovation. We booked a 5 people family room to only get 2 towels. Reception is closed early so I couldn’t get more. And what was my surprise to get locked out when coming back from the closed lobby, both keys didn’t work and we had to wake everyone up to get in. Cherry on the cake, the power plugs in the bed room were dead and we had to charge using the one in bathroom. Bathroom is outdated and dangerous with an old dryer and heater, slippery shower and no curtains.
The room was one of the largest I have ever stayed in. Bathrooms a little dated and don’t pay for breakfast as poor spread for the money. It was very clean and beds comfortable. On arrival wasn’t allowed to use the disabled access until given a room card, so you either have to wait in the car or manage the steps, thought the receptionist could have handled the situation better, not a great first impression.
A great location with free secure parking in the centre of this lovely town. Staff on reception were friendly and helpful. The room was quiet & comfortable, & larger than is usual in most French hotels. Bathroom spotlessley clean. We were able to walk into town in just a couple of minutes & enjoy all the wonderful Sunday market had to offer. Good hotel, good location & good value for meney.
Good rooms, comfortable beds, nice balcony view, however: bathtub instead of shower, which is inconvenient, bathroom overall looks quite old Breakfast buffet was decent, could have more options (and please give bigger drinking glasses, I dont wanna use shot glasses for my orange juice, I genuinely used the coffee cups instead)
AC didn’t work in both of the rooms, advertised as air conditioned but we sweated all night and room was 90 degrees. Pool closed way too early and opened too late. Staff unfriendly and elevator SO slow.
The hotel is well located, clos eto everything. Reception staff upon checkin was not really friendly. The morning staff was better. |Rooms are a little bit old and could do with some renovation. bedding was good. bathroom is ok but towels were not big enough and old. ok for one night stop but wouldnt stay there for a longer stay. free closed car park.||
