Just stopped by the facility to do the self guided tour of the museum on Wednesday between 2-5:30pm. They actually don’t let you do that anymore 🤷‍♀️ they told me you need to make a reservation for the self guided museum tour but when you click on the learn more button on the website there is no component to make a reservation.

Visiting from the Canadian Rockies, we were fortunate to be treated with an amazing guided tour of the mythic Simond's manufacture in Chamonix. The permanent exhibit retraces the interesting history and evolution of climbing hardware landmark of the Simond brand, including highlights of how Simond enabled breakthroughs in alpinism. The visit took us through the manufacturing processes of crampons, ice axes and carabiners. Our expert and friendly guide thoroughly explained the complex assembly and quality control of these technical climbing gear. We highly recommend anyone visiting Chamonix to stop by and enjoy this unique discovery and learning experience.
