Don’t be put off by the outside appearance of the hotel - it looks very ordinary BUT everything inside was excellent. No elevator but I’m 82 and it wasn’t a problem. Spotlessly clean. Comfortable bed. Good pool area with sunbeds and parasols. Pool towels were provided. VERY pleasant and helpful staff - every one we met. Very convenient position for the old town.
Firstly, I would like to commend the staff for their pleasant demeanor and the overall cleanliness of the hotel. The location is excellent, with easy access to bars, restaurants, a supermarket, and the beautiful lake which is just a 30-minute walk away.||However, there were a few aspects of our stay that were less than satisfactory. The swimming pool appeared very inviting in the brochure, but unfortunately, it was not open during our visit despite being advertised as available. This was quite disappointing.||Additionally, during our stay in October, we experienced beautifully warm weather and found that the air conditioning in our room was not functioning properly. This made our stay somewhat uncomfortable.||We appreciated the additional door in the bedroom, which we initially thought would help in reducing noise from outside. Unfortunately, we were still disturbed every morning from 7am by noises coming from the corridor. Furthermore, we could hear the plumbing noises from the neighbouring rooms, such as when someone flushed their toilet.
Don't let the ordinary exterior of this boutique hotel fool you! It's beautiful inside! Staff is warm and welcoming and everyone seemed to know English. Rooms are spacious and clean with good AC. Only a 5-10 minute walk from the train station and about the same distance to the business district for shopping and restaurants. The hotel is on a quiet, safe residential street. I felt comfortable walking in the neighborhood as a single woman. Chances are I'll be returning to Bergerac and will stay here again!
I stayed here with my daughter for a last minute trip. We looked at different options but once we knew a heatwave was coming a hotel with air con and a pool was most appealing. This hotel did not let us down. We were able to leave our bags at reception before check in so we could wander around the town without our big bags. At check in the staff showed us everything we needed and gave us a map of town. The staff we met (3 at reception and the cleaner) were so friendly and helpful. We didn't need to ask anything but I always felt that I could. My French is sadly not great but the staff made a real effort with great patience to explain things to me in English. The room was exactly as described and clean and modern shower. The cleaner was available everyday for making up the room. The air con worked really well and we were in need of it as it was 40° outside. The pool is big and has a shallow and deep end. We spent the afternoon cooling off in there and sitting on the beds around the pool and it was fantastic. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel but it was offered and available. This hotel is in a great location easy walking to the old town and everything you'd want to see and do. There are bakeries nearby and an intermarche within walking distance. Walking through town in the evening we were glad to be a bit further out at night as the hotel is quiet and we had restful sleep after long days walking. Perfect hotel, thank you for a lovely stay.
The people were very friendly and helpful, the room was clean and the hotel is on a quiet street. I picked it because it was close to the train station but it turned out to also be an easy walk to the center of market day, old town and restaurants also. The receptionist gave me a map and marked various spots for me which were easy to find. The bathroom was great - it had hot water in the sinks as well as the shower - in three weeks of travel in France this was the first sink tap with hot water - most were warm to cool. The lighting was also very good in the bathroom, tho the bedroom lighting was a bit dim. As is common in France, the toilet is in a separate room from the shower - I am not sure why people find that odd, but here it is common. As it was a rainy fall day, I did not use their pool, of course.
Madame on reception could not have been more friendly and helpful when I arrived - 5 stars to her. However, the room was lacking on several counts. ||- No kettle/tea or coffee making facilities. |- Not one plug socket either side of the bed – there was just an extension lead near the TV. |- There was Aircon but no remote control to turn it on – room was very hot. |- Separate toilet to bathroom and a high sided shower bath. Just odd! ||Location is about 5 mins walk from the centre. Hotel is in a residential area with nothing immediately around it. Room was a decent size and clean. Breakfast is €10 and needs to be booked the night before.
Best value for money I’ve ever experienced. Very friendly and helpful staff.|Spotlessly clean with renovated modern bathrooms and comfy beds.|While basic it has all you need for a very fair price in fact they could justify charging more for all they are doing right. They actually do better regarding service and breakfast than other more expensive hotels! Fantastic for a stopover or a few nights. Would definitely choose again in future. Thank you!
Room was perfect for what we needed, one night in Bergerac before our flight. Pool area was lovely and relaxing. The lady on the front desk (maybe the owner?) was brilliant, she was very friendly helpful and had a great energy about her.
