The chateau is elegant as is the hostess who produced a beautifully presented breakfast with home made pancakes and jams. . She was delightfully attentive and enjoyed showing us round her Grande Maison. Very comfortable room well fitted bathroom and plenty of outdoor sitting area in the grounds. Highly recommened!

We were delighted to spend a night in this hidden chateau with our lovely friendly hosts, Dominique and Gilles. ||We were 4 adults traveling with our 2 years old daughter to this boutique b&b and everything was absolutely great. Our rooms which were highly comfortable and beautifully decorated, were located on top of the old stone staircase.||The “surprise” dinner Dominique prepared us was absolutely delicious and we had it the living room by the fire. Breakfast was made with fresh ingredients was generous and delicious. In sunnier days It must be fantastic eating outside in the charming backyard. ||All and all a very atypical, charming and highly recommended place!

We stayed 3 stays with family and friends at l’Ancre vive. We enjoyed the great hospitality of Dominique and GIlles who helped us organize our stay in Beaujolais. The four bedrooms are exquisitely renovated with great taste. They provide all comfort, including stunning views on the park and great mattresses. It is a divine pleasure to long in the bathtub enjoying the view. |And another pleasure to walk in the park before the “aperitif” outside. |We enjoyed a delicious breakfast in the cosy and charming living room with home made pastries and jam. |A fabulous place to discover Beaujolais or just take a few days off to relax.

This place is wonderful. If you’re wine tasting in Beaujolais or heading down south and need a stopover, stay here. It’s an enormous, rambling chateau which Dominique and Gilles are gradually bringing back to life with individually designed rooms and a beautiful garden and extensive grounds in which you can walk. They are fantastic, generous, welcoming hosts, the beds are large and comfortable, the bathrooms are a delight the breakfast I unhurried and substantial. And if you’re either a fan of antiques or peril details, then there are too many to take in. In future there may be gites and events, but for now, these are great chambres d’hotes and highly recommended.

We usually book a hotel along the motorway for an overnight stay when traveling south but this time we decided to do something different & didn’t regret it. The welcome was warm, the room was comfortable & breakfast was delicious. And of course the chateau is beautiful. Our hosts could not have been nicer. Thank you so much Dominique & Gilles!

We broke a long drive south by spending a night here. Dominique and her husband are doing the place up but by bit and it's a really beautiful and charming property. They were so welcoming and friendly and the stay was brilliant.||||Possibly not great for people with mobility issues or people who don't like properties which aren't completely renovated - but if you like a rustic window into 19 century France, this is a great choice!

This place is amazing. Superb treasure trove of wonderful floors, ceilings, staircases, furniture and all inside a real chateau. Fabulous welcome, brilliant hosts and great breakfast.
