LES BALONS DE RECOIN 2

Fantastic location right by the chairlift and superb bar and restaurant attached. The spa in the basement was a welcome pitstop at the end of a hard day's ski. Highly recommend

Family of 4 stayed for 1 week in Feb 2019. The location is great - right opposite the gondola that goes to the top of the mountain really quickly. We had a "6 person" apartment which was fine for 4 people - one double bedroom with shower/sink and one twin bedroom - which annoyingly only had a curtain to the corridor so poor privacy. Overall the location makes this a decent place to stay but the flats are a little shabby - peeling paintwork, worn carpets and holes in the curtains. The heating worked well, always hot water, and kitchen facilities very good. ||||The negatives are: really terrible tiny towels, had to make all the beds on arrival (why??), tiny ski locker and weird location of entrance and boot room (at back of hotel away from slopes).||||Despite the very quiet week we stayed we were given a back facing room with very poor view of back street and bins which wasn't great. Reception not open much and not very friendly/helpful. Wifi only worked in reception.||||Ski hire, ski pass shop, Casino supermarket all 2 mins walk. Skiing is fairly small compared to the big resorts but 3 high level skiers enjoyed the slopes. ||||Chamrousse is pretty limited for choice and on location alone this is a good choice. Does need some uprating.

Residence les Balcons de Recoin is a fantastic property, well managed and 25 (+ - ) meters from the lifts. It is a basic, yet very functional property that was truly home for us for one week in February. Recon 1650 is picturesque station with many ski rentals, ski school, restaurants and cafes, as well as there is Casino market, baker (a must!) and plenty shops to buy essential and more. The resort is mainly French speaking, yet personnel in restaurants, ski hire, ski school and at the residence, speak good English. Les Balcons has a wonderful views and setting, depends on the wing I guess. We had a lovely valley view and a bit of mountain view, which was magic. I highly recommend this small resorts with superb, hassle-free skiing, traditional standards and good French restaurants and of course Les Balcons bang in the centre of it all. Slopes here have relaxed atmosphere feel, some wide & Blue, some steep, narrow and Red/Black :-) but a wide variety of slopes with a range for everyone for a decent ski. P.S. WiFi is not good, so try to take your own hotspot or 4G thingy. Have fun. ;-)

Self contained flatlet with one bedroom and lounge with sofa bed(s). ||Very well equipped and spotlessly clean. Stunning views over the slopes and mountains.||Easy walking distance to ski lifts.||Swimming pool on complex but was dismayed to discover this incurred an extra charge of 10euro/person!||Resort is very expensive to eat out/drink so recommend taking supplies with you. Small shops in area but not supermarkets.

We spent two weeks in a 3-rooms appartment and in general it was a nice stay.||||Pros:||- very good location near to the ski-lifts, slores and commerces. ||- the appartment is quite spacious.||- baby chair and baby bed were provided free of charge.||- two separate bathrooms||||||Cons:||- the ski-room is awfull, no driers for boots and only one ruined chair to change your boots.||- the swimming pool, spa and restaurant are permanently closed. ||- not enough wardrobes or shelves in the appartment.||- the fridge was very small for a 6-person appartment.

Just returned from 7 nights, apartment was spacious for 4 and totally clean, warm and had everything you need for a weeks skiing. Slopes are just across the road. Chamrousse is a great small resort with excellent tree lined runs.||Left my wallet in reception, manager found it and returned to me, he was friendly and helpful all week. Avenue 76 restaurant in 1650 is well worth a visit steak was excellent.

Nice place, clean and tidy, though a bit small. Great location with access to all you need...
