What a jewel to find at the end of a day's cycling on a glorious summer's day in June. Beautiful setting, nestled in the delightful village of Jumieges. Lovely rooms, a hot bath to soak in and restorative gin and tonics enjoyed in the sunshine in the garden by the pool! Plus a delicious breakfast next day. Our host went above and beyond the call of duty and ran us into the next village for medical supplies for one of our party, as Jumieges didn't have a pharmacy. He was so kind and helpful - including assisting with puncture repairs!! I would wholeheartedly recommend this place. You won't be disappointed.
Beautiful hotel nestled in an idyllic location. Car parking is ample but outside the main hotel grounds, but it is a short walk down a gravel path to reception. Staff are all very welcoming and friendly and show you to your room. Room is large, with large very comfortable bed and several chairs and a footon (pull out bed). A large en-suite has both good sized shower and a jacuzzi type bath and his and hers sinks. Toilet is located in a separate room. French doors open onto a small paved area with a table and chairs. I didn't try the swimming pool, but it looked spotlessly clean with shower and loungers. Breakfast had plenty of choice of quality foods. An ideal hotel if you are cycling in this area. I would definitely go back, but stay longer next time.
The room was lovely and bed was great. Separate toilet from bathroom. Not to my taste but may work for others. No shower curtain or screen which isn't ideal. Had issues with the room key getting into the building and locking the room when leaving was difficult. The staff are helpful and friendly. Wifi never worked, even after staff rebooted it. The pool was nice and the grounds were really good. Very quiet location, possibly too quiet.
Peaceful relaxed and idyllic. Staff are attentive and friendly, rooms bug and very clean, tastefully decorate. Grounds are immaculate and the pool is a welcome addition. We were a bit nervous about bringing the kids as its more of an adults spa break kind of vibe but they were more than welcoming and as long as your children are t brats I'm sure it will be fine. ||We stayed here on way down to Morbihan from eurostar and it was so nice we stayed for another night on the way back. ||We only had breakfast *very nice) but there is Great food in Auberge du bac about a 15 minute walk to the river.
To start, it's a nice place, very clean, friendly hosts, beautiful environment. But It also feels like you are traveling with Ryanair. For €240/night you would expect some basic luxury which was completely lacking. - The spa is very basic and closes at 20h, so no nice sauna or swim after a day of walking - the breakfast is €15/person extra and has nothing special, not even fresh juice - the "jacuzzi" tub in the room only fits 1 person - small bottle of water in the mini bar costs €2,50... In a spa... - free coffee in the room is just bags of instant coffee - they advertise their expensive bathing products everywhere, but you never get any samples, the products hanging on the wall in the bathroom are not even from the brand they advertise. - you get 2 cardboard cups in the room, no real glasses, which you have to go and ask at reception So, yes it's nice, but the value for money is a true disappointment, some details would have made a big difference.
A wonderful, peaceful few days in school half term. Hotel has around 20 rooms, redecorated, with comfortable large beds; and some with great views of the the abbey towers. Had the swimming pool to ourselves, great as heated. Helpful staff and owner. Good G&Ts!||||Just a few minutes walk into the village with a few bars and restaurants, although hit and miss which was open on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday evenings.||Would recommend to explore local Seine area.
Rather hidden away this retreat is within the village of Jumieges and only a short walk from the famous abbey. It is all beautifully appointed with what appear to be a collection of Normandy style houses than are all converted into hotel rooms, all of an ample size and very well appointed. Wonderfully quite with a great swimming pool and spa. They do very simple continental breakfasts but no evening meals are available. All spotlessly clean with staff who are very helpful and amenable. If you like peace and quiet and enjoy going out for dinner then get booked in soon.
I stayed here with my mother, my father & my sister. We did not know what it was going to be like but it was amazing. ||||The staff greeted us at reception and showed us to our room, included flatscreen tv, mini bar, desk & jacuzzi bath tub.||Breakfast was lovely, they a wide range of pastries, pancakes and boil your own eggs!||||As we brought our bikes the staff allowed us to put them in the onsite garage. The staff catered to our every need and would never fail.||||Their five worlds spa included an exterior jacuzzi, sauna & massages with herbal teas at the end. There is a small heated pool on site with sun loungers and close to the bar.||||Overall I would recommend this spa hotel to anyone in Jumièges.
