The gatekeeper is a racist. The old gentleman said kids cannot go inside, but a few minutes later, we could witness two French kids are coming out from the building. When I complained about the issue, he prenended that he could not speak English. Very disappointing. Decent place but disgraceful people. The worst experience in France.

A very good plan. We were there with group, no other people around. Probably need to agree visit in advance. Wall-painting is very impressive (fresco). Reconstruction is going well.

What a lovely Château. It is still being restored, but already it is fascinating to tour it! Wonderful!

It's this really cool 17th-century castle just outside Lyon. It's got this interesting mix of old-school fortress vibes and elegant Italian touches. What's pretty unique is it even has a discreet Calvinist chapel hidden inside. Definitely worth seeing if you're into history and beautiful old buildings.

Pretty castle with a nice garden. Entrance fee is 12 euro, including a guided tour. Note: the tour the guide spoke only French to the group. When asked if there would be also English part (as indicated at the entrance) she informed us that we are in France so the tour is in French only... and started commenting on how entitled foreigners expect to have the tour done in their languages... If the Castle policy is not to accomodate foreign tourists, please make sure it is clearly stated at the entrance. It would spare us an unpleasant experience.

Mixed feelings about this castle. It's very pretty from the outside. The interieur looks okay. You can see that it's not the original interior. But they tried to restore it, which it's a good thing. If you're a tourist who doesn't speak French it's not so nice. At the entrance (12 euro per person) we were told that there was an English guided tour, but that we had to wait for 20 minutes to start. So we did. We got an old leatflet which stated that renovations would be done in 2008. When the tour started the tour guide only spoke French en she refused to answer any questions in English. The leaflet itself was very basic in the explanation of alle the rooms. Overal it felt a bit silly to go to a castle with a written explanation of different rooms of one minute and listed to an oral explanation by the tour guide that lasted ten minutes. Especially since it was not possible to visit the castle on your own. Overal I feel 12 euro was too much for the non original interior and the basic English explanation from before 2008. If you're not fluent in French, I would opt for an other castle to visit.

Most excellent chateau with first class guided tour. Magnificent frescos, beautifully furnished and with a lot to see. Although references are made to being “under restoration” this doesn’t detract in the slightest from appreciating the chateau. Look forward to returning in a couple of years to see what other discoveries have been made! Thanks again to the excellent tour guide.
