SOCIETE DE BETON INTERPROFESSIONNELLE

A company to avoid. Their cement-factory in Bergerac - Unibéton - poured a self-leveling concrete in our basement last year. The water/cement ratio was so high (0,67 on paper) that the concrete never set properly, the surface is soft and dusty (one can manually make holes in it with a srewdriver) and - worst of all - the concrete stinks relentlessly for over a year now. On hot summer days we can not even sit in the garden near the house, as the chemical odor from the basement is so strong! I have written to both Heidelberg Cement Group headquarters, to the CEO of Unibéton in Paris and to the local managers aswell. 3 visits, and they conclude that there "is no problem" - they are not bothered by the smell, they will do no tests, they concede that there seems to be an excess of water in the mix, but since it is not mentioned in their papers, they refuse to take responsability for the situation. I am left with the chemical stink in my house. I have proof for every word I write here, so please do not remove my review again, as it is fully within the "community guidelines" as an accurate description of the facts.
