Despite the mixed reviews, I thought I'd see for myself. This place deserves less than 1 star. For starters, I arrived 10 min after it opened and Bruno let one other person in who was also standing on the sidewalk - but told me I couldn't come in yet. So, I walked around for 15-20 min then STILL decided to give it a chance. The place was not welcoming at all - 7 barstools - 2 occupied by Bruno and a friend. He was not friendly at all, no one wanted to discuss the wine, and overall it was a very bad atmosphere. It was unclear how long the wine had been open, and I didn't feel comfortable inquiring about what type of wine would match my palette. Bruno should stick to selling wine, but he should NOT be operating a wine bar. DON'T WASTE A SECOND OF YOUR TIME HERE - there are many friendly wine stores & wine bars that do tastings in Dijon.
Chez Bruno - legend! He knows his stuff. No better!
Had a fantastic time visiting this place after a work event - the wine list was incredible and the hospitality was wonderful. The place filled up so quickly on a random Wednesday and it is easy to see why. I'll definitely be back!
I love Bruno and his place. Firmly one of the best wine bars in the world for me. The late nights here have been some of the most memorable times in Europe.
worst place to go owner starts shouting at you once you step in all the furniture is old, bad, broken service is awful, they think nobody speaks french and talk shit about you you can call to book a table, get the answer that there is no need of booking, come and the place will be closed 60% of the place is crowded with garbage, dust, boxes, old furniture and shopping bags at the same time it has amazing wine list, but i’m not sure if it’s worth it
I was there in August of 2015 and it was great. A well chosen selection of Burgundies, white and red, cover the chak board. Other regions are also represented but why bother? You are in the best wine region in the world. Ham is another thing Bruno is passionate about. Sliced right at the bar, it makes the perfect companion to the amazing Pinot Noirs he serves. I am back in Dijon today and I will be heading back once again.
I've been remiss on writing a review about Bruno's. I was there for two evenings in mid August of 2017. It's a charming place. Just a few bar places inside and a table for two and a table outside. Bruno on the first night poured us a relatively rare Domaine Fourrier and a Georges Noellat and the next day, a Sylive Esmonin and an Armand Rousseau. He knows his wines and his some fantastic stock, many vintage. The second night, we spent all evening drinking with Bruno, his daughter and some of the regular customers there. This is a real wine bar with genuine hospitality. I'm just waiting to see when I can go again. I was a bit drunk on the second night and he stopped me from opening a Romanee Conti La Tache. That's waiting for me!
We came here having read an article in the New York Times, but as so many Google reviews have already pointed out the owner is rude and unhelpful. He actually joked about how rude he was being to us with his friends at the bar, so clearly this is something he does intentionally.
