Amazing views, and the cave! no words, perfect. there are two ladders to climb down. The temperature down there is refreshing in the summer months.
The pyramid and cave are pretty cool. Great view of Nice and the coast line. Kind of a rough walk to get there and the trails aren’t too obvious and grown over in some spots. There are aluminium ladders secured to the side of the cave so you can go in - it’s a good 25-30 meters deep. Make sure you have your phone in case you go off course you might need it to find the trail. - it’s a vertical drop. FYI - the name of the cave translates to “Cave of Bats”
I visited the pyramid of Falicon with my daughter in summer. The route is not for beginners. There are a lot of bugs ( as reported by my daughter). There are several thorny trees and bushes. The route from ruins to pyramid in the map is misleading. Also the trail paths that have dead ends are not paths at all. We were lost on of the paths and we were rescued by emergency people. Not suitable for kids or beginners.
There are several good hiking trails around Mont Chauve. You can for example start from Aire St-Michel and take a 7-kilometer trail to Aspremont (one way). And in Aspremont you can and should take a break.
Amazing pyramid, cave is fun, follow recommended path by google maps, as some paths turn into nothing easy to get lost if not careful
The trail is off the main trail. The actual walking trail is quite overgrown which is not surprising. It's a good hike route but you do need to have good awareness of where you put your feet and not be scared of bugs, thorns. Not for beginners and if you do it bring backpack and water bottle.
Nice place to hike...tracks are a little bit tricky to find but worthful to go.
Very cool to see, it's got a cave at the base of it where you can climb down and explore. The cave itself is actually quite massive, there are tie off points everywhere so you can climb down the 120ft to the bottom (experienced climbers only), it's quite amazing down there but there are a lot of bats this time of the year so be careful.
