We found this hotel by chance while traveling through Alsace and how lucky we were they had a room free. We were given this romantic, historical room in which we would have stayed another night but unfortunately it was busy. There is not much to do in the village in the evening but if you are in this charming hotel you even don't think of going out of there. Their "tartes flambés" are equally excellent but you have to book a table in advance. The breakfast was sipmle and very French but it was good and enough.

Nice local style historical house with clean, warm and big rooms. Nice location to travel around by car, bicycle or for hiking. Good breakfast.

A great little place to stay, just off the Alsace wine route. We had an apartment on the first floor, just to the left of the entrance to the main building which dates from the 18th century. This consisted of two bedrooms (one double, one twin), a kitchen, living room and bathroom. All was in very good condition and beautifully clean. The kitchen was well supplied with equipment and there was a TV in the living room. A minor weakness was that the wifi signal wasn't strong enough to reach the flat, but it was OK in the main building, where we had breakfast. ||The breakfast was excellent, with a nice choice of fruit, yoghurt, cheese, meats, bread and jam. But the real star attraction is the restaurant/bar at night, with its superb tartes flambees (like pizza, but rectangular and without tomato). These came out of the wood-fired oven fantastically hot and crispy, served on a slate, to be eaten with fingers. Delicious! There's a great atmosphere in the bar too, which is centuries old and contains an ancient Alsace ceramic stove in the corner. It's good value and highly recommended.

we have stayed here several times. Don't be put off by the sign above the door. "Harleys Wecome Cars will be crushed"!Thge building dates back to the 16th Century but the rooms are remarkably comfortable. Furnished with antiques but comfy bed. We have had the suite described in another review and it is well with the extra. Our children have had other rooms which are also very spacious and comfortable. The breakfasts are substantial (not hot) . The restaurant is fantastic with tart flambé to die for cooked in the 16th century oven and good steak and chips and salad. Limited but good selection of local wines and beers. You should book as it can get very busy. Closed Monday. Dinner only on other days.||The owners are very welcoming and helpful and flexible. ||There is free wifi but it doesn't always work in the rooms

We had a wonderful two nights at this location. It might be advantageous if you spoke some French. Everyone was wonderful, helpful fun! Excellent food. Great location. Can't wait to go back! If you need your iPad , don't expect to use in your room. Wifi available in downstairs areas.

Minimum Stay 2 nights, our first time in this area. We phoned on arrival to be met and shown our room, comfortable and convenient, but utilising some ancient antique furniture. Downstairs the bar provided the excellent Flammkuchen/Tarte Flambee the Gambrinus Wine-bar is renowned for. The courtyard hummed with activity until after 10, but this didnt disturb us and we slept well||It was nice to have "table service" for the fresh bread and croissants and coffee at breakfast, and we were loaned a guide in english to Colmar, which we set off to visit for the day, about 15 minutes away. After a great day out with a mid-day lunch we weren't up to a whole Flambee each in the evening, but we were welcomed back. Its a pleasant, relaxed place to stay, and we sat out in the courtyard with a dozen or so other clients, Service from the bar comes as you find it, so don't expect prompt attention to your table, and take your time here. ||Its not a slick, efficient operation at the Gambrinus, but the place is relaxed and old-fashioned in a way that brings back older times. Wi-fi? we didn't bother. TV? it worked, but no idea what channels it gets, Bathroom and Plumbing? worked as expected. Air-con? open a window.. Parking arrangements were again left to us to sort out, but Beblenheim doesnt seem too bothered by parking restrictions in its side streets and we left our car in the road round the corner without concerns. ||We recommend staying here to others as a good alternative to stuffy chateaux and anonymous multi-storey blocks in busy cities. And the Tarte Flambees are every bit as good as their reputation,
