That's definetly not a 4-star hotel. Rooms are very small, but newly renovated with good bathrooms. Extras like slippers and bath robes are not provided. Command of English by the stuff is questionable at best. There's no hotel parking, you have to use a paid public parking nearby. If you're from US and new to EU you should know that typically European city parking is not for the faint of heart. Don't rent huge SUVs, everything is steep, narrow and frightening! As far as I know there's no hotel gym. But there's a paid spa. On the other hand location is as central as it gets, close to Place Stanislas, shopping streets, restaurants and what's not. Hotel itself is in a charming historic building. Sole dedication, bordering on obsession, with all things 19th century French writer Stendahl is unique and adds a lit if character to the place. Breakfast is not opulent but very good, with lots of options, including healthy. Just don't expect American staples like pancakes, bacon, beans, burgers, cola, etc. I consider this a good thing.

There are some real positives, including the staff, the homemade and organic led breakfast, the location and the attractive decor. Unfortunately space is limited. The rooms are small (ours was on the top, 3rd, floor) and there is insufficient space for breakfast, with unacceptable waits at popular times. Very hard to see what can be done to improve that, even in summer as there appears to be no access to the courtyard area alongside the breakfast room.

Very very nice hotel in an even better nicest city. Close to Stanislas Sq in the best location of Nancy. Cozy, neat and tidy. Very friendly staff at your service. Good breakfast overlooking a beautiful patio.

I enjoyed my stay here very much. The staff were phenomenal and in spite of the language barrier, they were kind and warm. The breakfast was excellent - so many choices!

The hotel is very nice and cozy, walking distance to Gare de Nancy and to Place Stanislas. The breakfast was very good with plenty of choices. The room was a bit cold, but it was very cold also outside.

We only stayed for one night, but we very much liked the hotel's concept. Ideally located near Place Stanislas, the Parking Garage Is around the corner and the rates are economic. The service is friendly, the rooms are nice and modern, and the breakfast is good.

What a disappointment! We have used this hotel for the past 20yrs. It went for 2 to 3 to now 4 star. Our experience would have been OK for a 2 star. For a 4 star that was disappointing. On the first night our room wasn’t made whilst for one of our friend the room was made but the bathroom not cleaned. On the third night.. the room was done but the coffee cups were not changed and left dirty. Was the room cleaned at all? Or did they clean around the dirty cups… or did they bother at all? Who knows. On the morning before I left, I checked under the bed and I found an eye drop container that didn’t belong to me. It wasn’t awfully dirty but it’s obvious the cleaning is not done regularly. There was no room provided to have breakfast. I ended up in Batts up the road. It’s is true it was written on the booking but that wasn’t obvious or I would have gone elsewhere. One can wonder if the middle of the touristy season is the best time to close down the breakfast room for renovation. There was plenty of staff at the reception but they seem to have such a good chat that I felt disturbing them everytime I asked for anything. Most of them were friendly.
