Liked: Wonderful hosts who went out of their way to help us. The very spacious site is on a large open hillside with flat pitches marked out in the mown grass. Showers and wash facilities are excellent, with stacks of hot water! Nice indoor room for wet weather and relaxing, plus huge games barn for children. Felt like a very hospitable homestay. Thank you so much, and good luck with developing your dream life!
We spent 3 nights camping at Les quatre saisons. It was a wonderful experience in an idyllic rural setting. The hosts, Harmen and Doreen, were exceptionally kind and helpful without being at all overbearing. The shared facilities (toilets, showers, kitchen and sitting areas) were clean and attractive with lots of thoughtful touches and the camping pitches well laid out. Fresh bread and croissants could be ordered every morning. We wouldn't hesitate to return!
Together with my girlfriend we've spend a week in one of the gîtes (Printemps) . Harmen and his family made us feel incredibly welcome. The gîte is very roomy en equipped with everything you need. All basic goods are available on site and otherwise it's only a short trip to the Carrefour in Bourganeuf. La Creuse is a lovely region to relax and we've made trips to i.e. Aubusson, Augerolles and Lac de Vassivières. Definitely worth visiting again!
Liked: Absolutely beautiful place...quiet, peaceful and full of wildlife. The ready-tent was pitched at the top of the campsite with stunning views across the treetops. Hosts are very welcoming & helpful and communal areas are clean & well equipped. Disliked: Nothing to dislike....we would love come back here.
A fabulous relaxing and quiet campsite. Secluded meadow pitches with plenty of natural shade . The facilities are excellent and the owners very friendly and helpful.
Liked: Top of the like list are the owners, a beautiful young family who are achieving their dream, which is reflected in the site and the work they themselves have put in this year to bring this place back to life once again. You won't meet a more friendly couple, always there to help or just chat. They themselves live on site in the beautiful old house so are never too far away, just ring the bell if you can't find them. A well established environment that has a spacious feeling and plenty of character. Select a shaded pitch or a place in the sun, you decide (space allowing of course). Seating areas dotted around including a fire pit, paths through the long grassed areas and woods to ramble through. The sanitary area is absolutely spotless, modern and well stocked with toilet paper, hand towels and hand wash. Powerful showers, hot water at all basins including clothes washing area. There's a small selection of foods and drinks available on site, a play area and a games room. You'll be situated in the peaceful countryside setting, which means zero road noise. Even so, phone signal is great and streaming isn't a problem, I believe there is WiFi available by the communal area. I had initially booked for one night but as soon as I stepped of my motorbike I was greeted with a smile. After chatting to the family for some time and then pitching my tent, I decided to stay another night. Not many places give me 'the vibe' but this spot has the welcoming peaceful atmosphere we search for when camping. Added to my favourites so hopefully I'll be back. Thank you to the family, keep your dream alive and thank you for sharing. Disliked: Leaving.... obviously. Having itchy feet and having to keep moving, could have stayed for days.
Just spent 10 days at the site in out VW campervan, the facilities are excellent with level well placed pitches set within 3 tree line fields. You really feel like you are living on a rural French farm, it was so relaxing we didn't want to leave at the end. What a great location too, nestled among the peaceful pine forests of the Creuse region with lovely walks locally and towns to visit. The roads were so quiet it was amazing and made driving around a joy. The owners (our hosts) Bernie and Andrew are very helpful and really made the stay something special (ably supported by Annette). We sat down for dinner outside the 'big house' on 4 occasions, it was very friendly and we could not fault the food and hospitality, Andrew's homemade Walnut Liqueur is something you really must try and as for Bernie's Butter Chicken Curry... it was simply delicious. A truly great find.
Brilliant brilliant campsite. Bart and Marijn took over the campsite last autumn. They were friendly and welcoming, but very much left us alone to enjoy the peaceful and relaxing feel that the campsite offers. Our pitch was amazing. Spacious, flat, water on hand, electricity on every pitch. The toilet and shower block is centrally located and a VERY high standard. The showers were the best I've ever had at a campsite. Everything was super clean and I can't recommend the campsite highly enough...
