Fantastic place, impressive with very nice and helpful personnel. Thank you for a smooth ride both ways. 👌🤗 Can stop at the top on the right side after going up on the lift if you want to break for lunch before the tunnels or at the bottom, right side also as you go towards the lift- there are tables, even a BBQ place. Great for watching the lift and away from the road. On the left side at the bottom of the lift there is supposed to be the mooring for queueing for the lift but it was not so busy (late september) and some boats would stop there too for a break. A great experience, an amazing piece of engineering 👌 and at this time of the year, hardly any wait both ways. Win-win!! There is also a museum at the top but we didn't have time to visit it unfortunately.

An excellent place visit. We went on the boat tour and thoroughly enjoyed it.

It was inter to see 👀 how the elevator 🛗 works. You can also go in the machine room. When you book the boat trip you go one time down ⬇️ and one time up ⬆️ with the elevator 🛗. Also they explain the main informations ℹ️ about the elevator 🛗.

Interesting but little boat traffic, waited for more an hour and could not see the lift in operation.

For a boater, totally worth a visit.

Disappointing. What is described as a 'thrilling' decent is anything but, and the leisurely cruise is just snails pace along a short straight of canal, just to turn around and go back. There was nothing to see, and my children were bored. The boat is enclosed and feels like a greenhouse in hot weather. No air circulation. As a family of 8, we don't recommend it. Save your money and hire a pedalo on a lake. It'll be cheaper and much more fun.

Quite an engineering feat. Run basically by gravity, boats and barges are lowered or raised instead of using many, many locks. We were on a week ong barge trip but I believe they also do daily trips just on the incline.
