Avis
This theatre is befitting of the quality of buildings in this area of Montpellier situated at the end of a palm tree lined road.
The building of the Opera house is a piece of art itself. Going there can be considered as a visit to a museum. It's situated in the heart of Montpellier city, next to Comedie tram stop. In November 2022 I went there to listen to Johann Strauss II and Richard Strauss music for just 10€. The seats are very comfortable and the space between the rows is enough for legs.
The opera house in Montpelier is a beautiful and magnificent building. Inside, it’s just as good and you can see the full architecture of the building. When you in the centre of Montpelier, you cannot miss this opera house as it’s definitely an eyesore.
Beautiful theatre and amazing experience and orchestra
Depending on the year, usually a pretty good repertoire, and then the Opéra itself has a fantastic feel, good viewing angles and often hosts interesting events. Having both been to perform and spectate and I can say without a doubt that it's an enjoyable experience!
A great very authentic place. If you have the oportunity go and enjoy the music and ambiance.
Gorgeous, sumptuous venue putting on superb classical music concerts. It's easy to buy the reasonably priced tickets on line. The seating plan seems complicated but there's something to be gained from whichever comfortable seat you end up sitting in. The front of the stalls will give unparalleled access to the quirks of the conductor! The National Orchestra of Montpellier is excellent and they attract some very skilled soloists. One point to note is that they don't seem to have refreshments in the interval, despite signs to the 'Bar'. So take a bottle of water and enjoy!
Amazing venue with a multidisciplinary approach to live arts. Highly recommended to young people with low income. You can find cheap tickets for very good quality shows
