Moulin de Montabonnel- what's a pearl! In the middle of nowhere, literally rather than metaphorically, this beautiful b&b offers everything you need for a quiet weekend of chilling out and exploring surrounding stunning countryside. Patricia and Jean-Luc made a great job of converting this old mill into beautiful warm and welcoming living space. They bought this place because when visiting they fell in love with it and who could have blamed them once you there you don't want to go anywhere else. Stone building preserved well and kept within its original character with comfort and warmth of modern but cosy interior. Roaring fire in the breakfast room, combined with delicious fresh bread and local produce makes you wonder what else would you ever need other than this simple pleasures. Watching the sun going down, setting behind tree tops and breaking through the morning mist the next day gives you great sense of peace and calm. And yet if you want to stay in touch with the world wifi is working amazingly well or alternatively after a short drive you can get to colourful villages with little shops and family run restaurants. But you need to have a good GPS to find Moulin de Montabonnel. It almost feels as if it doesn't want to be found. There are signs pointing the turning from the main road and on the way from the village but they are somehow only obvious and clearly visible once you know your whereabouts. I'm glad I found it though it was well worth it. ||

We booked one night and stayed two at this beautiful B & B. Patricia and Jean-Luc were warm and welcoming hosts. Jean-Luc is a master carpenter and their re-working of the interior of the very old structure is really a magnificent work of art. The setting is beautiful and one can appreciate the views from every window and door. When we toured Le Chambon all of the local merchants we had occasion to chat with knew Patricia and Jean-Luc and had nice things to say about them and what the did to Moulin De Montabonnel. This is an outstanding chambres d'hotes. Welcome and accommodation were excellent; we enjoyed the recommended walk along the Proverbs Path to the wine bar/bookshop, and the scheduled cold buffet became a hot meal in front of a warm fire, to our delight. Breakfast really set us up for the cycling day ahead. Hope to return one day and stay for more than one night.

Stayed here for two nights during a trip to Spain. The rooms are exceptionally clean and lovely renovated. Patricia and Jean Luc are very helpful and nice hosts, we can definitely recommend their estate for families with kids.

Un véritable coup de cœur pour cette chambre d’hôte au Moulin de Montabonel à Devesset ! L’accueil est chaleureux et digne de ce nom. L’environnement est apaisant et ressourçant, le jardin est tout simplement magnifique. L'emplacement est parfait pour faire de belle randonnées, se rendre à pieds au lac de Devesset et au restaurant L'arbre vagabond... 👍La literie est très confortable. Le spa est un vrai plus et très agréable pour se détendre. Quant au dîner, c’est un régal. Une adresse idéale pour un séjour bien être et ressourçant que je recommande sans hésitation.

Très belle maison d’hôtes, propre, calme et parfaitement entretenue. Accueil professionnel et attentionné. Petit déjeuner de qualité, literie confortable. Une excellente adresse à recommander.

Nous avons passé un séjour d'exception dans ce petit paradis, véritable havre de paix et de beauté dans la campagne ardéchoise. L'accueil de Sophie et Brigitte est aussi chaleureux que soigné et leur sens du détail et de l'hospitalité nous a fait nous sentir infiniment bien! Un paragraphe entier pourrait être rédigé sur la qualité exceptionnelle du petit déjeuner proposé par Brigitte, où le fait maison vous laisse un souvenir impérissable: pain frais, pâtisserie, jus de fruit, yaourt, pâte à tartiner et confitures sont un absolu régal ! Notre petite famille garde donc un souvenir ému de cette adresse incroyable et notre seule envie est d'y retourner très vite!

Nous avons eu l'opportunité de venir chez Sophie et Brigitte, et quelle opportunité!!! Un endroit magnifique, en pleine nature, une bâtisse exceptionnelle, et très bien entretenue. L'intérieur est décoré avec beaucoup de goûts et tout est fait dans le détail, les chambres sont très agréables et la literie invite à un très bon sommeil. Concernant Brigitte et Sophie, elles sont exceptionnelles dans leur accueil et leur gentillesse, et je ne parle encore pas des repas et des petits déjeuners où tout est fait maison, servis très copieusement! Pour résumer, endroit merveilleux avec des hôtes adorables, nous recommandons à 200% et nous prévoyons de revenir!!! Un grand merci à Sophie et Brigitte!!!
