Pros:|- great location near the port without being IN the port|- comfortable bed and pillows|- clean|- helpful front desk|- good value for money|- comfortable for 3 nights max||Cons:|- extremely small standard room (no mini fridge, no safe, no storage/cabinet of any kind) If you have large suitcases, you will not have room to keep them.|- room was not in the main building but down the street in an apartment-style building. Felt a bit less-safe as there was no front desk
+great location, quite although was central based, friendly staffBreakfast was ok, good value for price compare to other hotels- the room was very small, fresh fruits and vegetables were limited at breakfast and not a good coffee
The studio apartment was exactly what we needed for our stay in Marseille. Great location with an easy walk to nearby attractions, friendly staff, good price and value for money. Definitely recommend and would stay again.
Really great experience. The staff was lovely, beautiful restaurant and lounge area. The fact that the hotel is in old buildings but has elevators is great for those who travel with a little bit more. Great location - able to walk to the old town/port but a little out of the tourist area so you're not bombarded with crowds outside your door.
Had a great 3-night stay at Hotel Maison. A great location to explore Marseille, you can't go wrong being so close to the harbour. Staff made some very useful recommendations to maximise our stay. Our apartment room was very well kitted out (coffee machine, etc), clean, and spacious. On reflection, we should have booked breakfast each morning; we only had it on our last morning, and it was very good, plentiful, and slightly better value than eating out! Many thanks to all involved in our stay.
I booked the Montgrand with only afew weeks to go before our first visit to Marseille and just needed somewhere decent and safe to stay. On arrival , very warm welcome and what a gorgeous old building !!Cute little bar, lots of lovely seating but the best bit ; the beautiful garden which proved great respite during the heatwave!!||Our room was in a building next door- much bigger than expected, huge bed , great air con and looked out onto a little garden courtyard where we sat every morning. We never have hotel breakfast so popped out to a little bakery round the corner open at 8am and enjoyed our tranquil space. Would have been nice to have more tea/coffee sachets in the room but there were coffee options in the hotel building. |Great location too.As 1st time visitors to Marseille it was ideal- quite an upmarket area- near the Opera with lots of squares and food options but 10mins walk to the port area too. A sign of a good hotel is when you look forward to returning to it after a hot day out and sitting in a beautiful garden - beautiful
This hotel is definitely five star for its marvellous friendly, helpful, charming staff: all lovely but an especial mention to the receptionist Erlinda, and the waitress Loan. It’s also a good five for the public areas: the garden is glorious, and the 24/7 bar is nicely designed and comfy. It’s also in a great location, a little back from the bustle of the Vieux Port, on a quieter street, but very easy walking distance from the port and everywhere else you might want to go in Marseille. The hotel loses a star because the bedrooms and apartment aren’t in the lovely reception building, but in a range of other buildings along the street, which is a little strange. Our bedroom was in a rather dingy, drab, cramped building across the road, and the room was rather small and basic. A huge contrast to the public rooms. Also, one day at breakfast they seemed to have run out of a lot of things that weren’t being replaced quickly enough. It’s a shame, because the wonderful staff generally work their socks off! I would come back, but I’d choose my room carefully.
Really convenient hotel for our 1 night stay in Marseille. The selling point was the amazing restaurant but the rooms did not disappoint for the purpose that they served. Hotels should always provide water- without the amazing restaurant this would have been a 2/3 stars because there’s one water dispenser on the first floor. If you’re on the third floor you won’t be happy
