A perfect restaurant in the heart of Reims! Traditional and elegant at the same time with a nice menu and perfect service and serving! We were a group of 7 and reserved the table downstairs where it is such a good vibe, and CAROL suggested us good wine and special herbal digestives ! A must go in Reims!👏👏👏
While the food was okay, it wasn't anything special. The real issue is the poor attitude of the staff. It was incredibly disappointing to watch a waiter happily converse in English with the table beside us, only to come to our table and act like they couldn't understand a word we were saying. The another waiter spoke no English and made zero effort to communicate, we tried to communicate but she ain’t even trying. This makes the dining experience extremely difficult and confusing for us, which felt incredibly disrespectful.
Lovely Cosy Family run business!! The husband is the chef and his wife in the front. The food was 10/10. The flavours were next well, all food was cooked to perfection. My lamb was so juicy melted in my mouth and my partners cod dish was also cooked to perfection. They have a lovely cave style dining area.
The food is amazing ..... well above average and well priced!!!! If you make a reservation ( or get there early) go downstairs as the atmosphere is like a cave (white brick). The girl who received us was a bit aloof. However the other server and the main server (maybe owner) were so over the top wonderful!!!!! Atmosphere, culinary excellence (get the trio of fish with champagne sauerkraut and fois gras) and personal service make this a must do in Reins. If you are English speaking ask for the tablet with the menu.
This is a homey place. The food was good at best. However, that cool looking room in most pictures smells quite musty. There is a rusty metal bar going through the posterior lower part of the room. By the AC. The room has a carpet, that seems old and part of that musty issue. Why would you have cheap looking, old carpet in a small restaurant? When you look closely at the bricks they have dark mold in multiple areas. The knives to cut the steak are not sharp, making me obliterate my stake while cutting it. The steak was medium well, i wanted it medium rare. Just… a lot of details for this well intended restaurant are lacking. Not overpriced. Modest wine list.
We turned up on a Friday evening without a reservation and we were lucky enough to get the last available table downstairs in the 'cave'! What an incredible experience we had, the starter of snails and mushroom is stunning both in presentation and flavour. The main course of lamb was recommended by our wonderful waitress and it was beyond our expectation! The desert of Creme Brulee and Chocolate fondant were both perfect. All topped off in a stunning environment with beautiful champagne... What more could you want from a dinner in Reims!
This experience was nice, but we were disappointed there were only cold starters as a choice. The wine choice is good, and I really enjoyed my duck breast starter. We sat in the cellar, which was nice, but upstairs is good too.
We had a healthy cook with warm welcoming here😋. A French family running restaurant, cosy atmosphere ( no idea how summer is) in September when we visited Reims. Should reservation !
