This was an amazing experience. The dune is a magnificent natural feature and, after a short but taxing climb with the option of steps, rewards you with breathtaking views of sea, estuary, the bay and forest. There is ample car parking in shade under the trees and very tasteful visitor education booths and places to eat before tackling the dune itself. We visited in April at 11.30 am. The temperature was 25 degrees but with a welcome breeze. Lots of people already there at this time, including families enjoying the sifting sands! For a more natural experience, I'd recommend getting there earlier in the day. We enjoyed it enormously despite the crowds.
Beautiful and massive sand dune, with an amazing view after you put in some leg work to get to the top. It is a big tourist spot so there will be crowds. Highly recommended that you take your shoes and socks off and go barefoot, because the sand is deep and your shoes will be filled with sand eventually.
This place is beyond words truly breathtaking. The nature here is so beautiful and magical, it feels unreal, like a dream. Everything was so perfect that I’d love to come back again someday. I was so touched that if I ever have the chance, I’d love to take my wedding photos here.💍🌿
If your are in this area visit it! It is amazing seeing so much Sand next to the ocean. They way up and down is easy if you take the stairs, through the Sand is better feeling. Walk a bit in top of the dune and enjoy the views. Lots of parking available for 7 euros for hours. It was full at noon time, maybe go earlier or later.
Wonderful views. Decently challenging walk up for adults, not difficult but exhilarating. At the top the sand and wind whips your ankles like some sort of expensive skin treatment. Well worth the effort for the amazing views.
Extraordinarily impressive natural phenomenon. Be prepared for strong winds and the scorching sun, and potentially sudden weather changes.
This was such a delight. We went to Bordeaux for wine tasting and we decided to go to the sea and vidit the Dunes. The Dunes are quite impressive and the contrast of sea, Dunes and forest a beautiful canvas. The walk from the parking and bus stop ( public transport does take you there) is super easy and highly recommended if you got time when visiting Bordeaux.
Great attraction national park with the added bonus of the biggest sand dune in Europe. It's December now coffee shop was open and also a gift shop parking is paired but very cheap cost me a gyro for just over 2 hours. The June is a challenge to climb but doable
