I stayed here with our son and one of our daughters during their university reading week, and we had a very pleasant time! The hotel is very nicely laid out, with a very nice beach. The food was excellent, and the staff were very friendly.||The grounds are lovely, with beautiful flowers and even wildlife (pelicans diving for fish at the beach, the occasional iguana moseying about). We had adjoining rooms on the third floor of the "Chelonia" building, with windows overlooking the water and manicured grounds (partly incorporating the faint vestiges of a 17th century fortress turret - complete with a couple of old cannons). The windows were sliding glass doors opening onto a narrow, European-style balcony (room enough to stand or hang clothes over the railing, but not sit). We spent a few late afternoons wandering the grounds, taking photos against the mountainous backdrop of Basse-Terre over the water, before heading to dinner.||The breakfast buffet was excellent, and we used the same restaurant "La Route des Épices" for the dinner buffet, a few nights. In between, there were paninis available for lunch at the Yureli Beach Bar (the menu includes club sandwiches and salads, which were sometimes unavailable). There are a few good restaurant options within a short (3-5 min) walking distance from the hotel (we ate at "Le Restaurant le Massai" one night, and "Coconut Coast" another couple of nights). We had planned to eat at "Le Zawag" (a really lovely, fancier, restaurant on the hotel grounds) for our last night, but failed to make a reservation (which I think should be done at least a day in advance) and so ate at "Le Canopy" (the rooftop restaurant at the nearby casino) instead.||The comfy bar "La Rhumerie" is nicely situated, adjacent but above the swimming pool area, and became a focal point for live music, most evenings.||You can rent jet skis on the beach (my son and I took them out for a spin, one afternoon). It's also possible to arrange excursions (the

A must for your stay in Guadeloupe Perfectly located close to Le Gosier, this hotel has super comfy rooms with a great breakfast buffet, lovely spa and, small, yet beautiful beach. Very special. Special thanks to Sabrina cooking the most wonderful omelettes, Chantal so friendly and warm welcome at the breakfast desk, Marie-Evangeline at the restaurant, Anne’s care in preparing delicious juices, and Pascal, Allan, Dominique at the concierge desk. Looking forward to my future visit. If you can, I strongly recommend booking a junior suite. The view of the sea is totally worth it.

There are mixed reviews of a lot of resorts and hotels around this area, but I picked the right one! I think it’s underrated because it’s beautiful location great beach, great pool clean the people are friendly although limited English speaking, you can make your way through it with Google Translate|Couldn’t say better things about this resort. I wish my stay was longer, but I’m getting on a catamaran today and sailing around the islands.

First, the good: Many of the staff members were friendly and helpful. As non-French speakers (who speak two other languages that are not our primary one) who travel a fair amount, we understand that we do not speak their language and do not proceed with the expectation that people speak ours. We value the cultural differences and personal moments encountered while traveling. Several staff members, especially a young woman from Dominica who works at Yureli Beach Bar, were particularly helpful and encouraging and even laughed at my jokes about my poor French skills. I apologize that I lost the note where I wrote her name, but she deserves recognition. We used the spa and must recognize Lea, Thaliana and Perle for their excellent service! ||Our room was quite nice and the balcony and view were spectacular. ||Now the challenges: First, we booked a transfer from the airport through the concierge. They did not respond to the message I sent through the form on the hotel's website, so I had to call. The confirmation email I was sent was in English and was confusing. I thought it stated that the transfer was one-way. As a result, I went to the front desk and arranged a separate cab ride to return to the airport for the end of our stay. The front desk staff person said that she was looking at the concierge transfer and led me to believe that she also understood it to be one-way (otherwise, why would she book me a return cab?). After my stay, I emailed the concierge and was told that it was round trip. I asked for a refund of the unused portion and was told by the concierge that a refund of half of the round-trip amount would be refunded to my bank account, the details for which I provided them. I view this as an honest misunderstanding and one which the hotel should correct. After weeks of no refund and lack of response to calls, I am led to conclude that the hotel is not worthy of trust and should be avoided at all costs. ||Second, a few staff members were downright rude, p

We decided to spent Christmas and New Year in this hotel, which seems to be perfect for holidays – from the pictures. They are a couple of things we would have loved to know before deciding for that hotel … which could have decreased either the frustration or just changed the decision …|Not everything is negative. Let’s start with the positive aspects : staff is really kind and attentive (majority …); very good location to visit the island, nice sand beach, fresh fruit juice in the morning, nice clean rooms, gifts every day in the room linked to local culture, the a la carte restaurant (not included in the full or half board), decoration for the celebrations and especially the St Sylvester Night (fireworks, animations, lights, dancing on beach, …).|But, because there is a big but …|- As everywhere apparently in Guadalupe, the beach is not private … which means that you have, all the time a serious flow of externals through the hotel. In theory they only use the beach but in reality, it is everywhere in the hotel … Even at swimming pool supposed to be for hotel guests only. There are only 6 or 7 umbrellas on the beach, and if you arrive two late … you don’t even have a seat. Same for the swimming pool with about 30 seats for 200 rooms … |- At reception, in restrooms, in corridors !, on sofas, in the garden for picknicks … plenty of people who are not from the hotel …|So noise, trash bins full, queue for restrooms, … Even the sport room is “open” as no card to access (0 towels each time we went). If you go in the morning for an excursion, when you come back : no parking place, no place in the hotel for you … No Control. And if you are at the beach and wish to eat, because of the number of external, you may wait one hour … for a pizza or a sandwisch (quickly out of stock) for lunch.|Without saying that in the evening at the bar (show place), a couple of times, no seat to “watch the show or listen to the music” because of externals. Even at St Sylvester, we wante

Had 2 nights here 10th-12th Jan. |Enjoyable stay-helpful if you speak French or have access to google translate. |Room large, spacious and very clean with very comfortable large bed & pillows. |Had a fabulous sea view but no balcony to sit & enjoy the view. |Room has a fridge but no kettle. |Room has a safe but wasn’t working whilst we were there. ||Reception helpful and friendly but due to our French being limited, some introduction to services was limited. For example, not informed that if you scan the QR code on the key holder, it opens up a lot of information on activities & facilities. ||Lovely beach area, and a great swimming pool.|Buffet Breakfast included, but the usual birds flying about, so don’t leave your food unattended! Food choice was good. ||We had a 9pm flight home & no late check out on room available. No problem to use facilities until leaving resort. A shower room available to use but when we went, it was a shower in cold water, towels provided. ||A local shop and a couple of bars/eateries just outside the hotel which we did visit. ||Overall, we would recommend. Was about 20 mi s from port and airport-approx 38 euros for transfer in a taxi.

I've been here 2 hours and am still waiting for someone to deal w the AC, had to go to 2 on-site restaurants to get a bucket for ice and then the ice, of course, and was robbed on a short walk just outside the hotel when a necklace was ripped off from behind, the only option for dinner (now that I'm wary of leaving the grounds) is €40 onsite, sparse towels, very limited amenities, no late checkout whatsoever. The hotel+restaurant are highly touted but this is my 2nd visit and things are not/have not improved. The plus is it's nearer the airport than many and most, but hardly all, the staff are kind and trying to be helpful.

We had a wonderful stay at La Creole and enjoyed our stay from start to finish. We highly recommend this hotel.||||Rooms:||We chose to stay on the Mahogany side as having a balcony is important to us. The Junior Suite Family was perfect with a beautiful view of the ocean. It was simple but everything we needed. We found it helpful to keep the upstairs bedroom door closed during the day to keep the room cool. The kitchen had almost everything you would need for the week and though the bar fridge was small it was quite cold- perfect for drinks and groceries. We did purchase paper towel for the week as we preferred to wipe down the kitchen table and cooking surfaces/counter daily. The Carrefour express was close by and had everything we required. Many previous reviews complained of lack of hot water. We had zero issues whatsoever. We each had two showers a day and hot water for each one. ||||Staff:||Every staff member we interacted with was professional, friendly and helpful. We loved the front desk staff; they even helped us make restaurant reservations as we do not speak French.||||Grounds/ Beach:||The hotel grounds were beautiful and very well kept and cleaned daily. We were very impressed as cleanliness is important to us. The manicured gardens and lawns were lovely.||||The beach was not our favorite and therefore we did not spend much time there. This was our one disappointment of our stay. We understand and respect that all beaches in Guadeloupe are public, however at many other hotels on the islands the public was not permitted to use the hotel loungers/ chairs. We found that these were taken over daily and this left us disappointed. Our other complaint about the beach was the music being played from the hotel beach bar. We are open to many types of music and understand that some lyrics are suggestive in nature however the music being played was sexually explicit and vulgar- with so many young families this seemed inappropriate to hear daily. We assumed that it
