SCI HOTEL DES BAINS

The location is great for a night on the road in France but I would not stay again. The beds were very hard, the room was too warm (it was not warm outside), the (ineffective) ventilation was noisy and the airconditioning was not working; just blowing warm air, even when put on ‘cold’. The room was clean and the shower great, to end on a positive note. But I’m afraid I can’t recommend it.

Be aware of the arrival after 10pm. We arrived tired and had to be dealing with a machine to obtain a check in... And of course it did not work. After having driven 700km it was not what I expected. The gentleman on the help line was very helpful but it took over 20 minutes to get the check in done ... 20 minutes too much after having been driving for hours and with exhaustion.

There is a reason this property is so competitively priced! The accommodation is exceptionally poor - our room smelled poor from the drain in the shower, the shower curtain was revolting, the ceiling mouldy as another reviewer pointed out. The bathroom was barely big enough to stand in. The toilet, although clean, was clearly very old and stained and required replacement. The 2 beds side by side left no room between them or either side of them. The room was too tight for two people. There was not enough space for|Our luggage so once in the room we stacked it against the door which is not ideal if there was an emergency in the night. The beds were hard and pillows poor. I slept well but only because I’d driven across Europe for 11 hours already! I would only recommend booking if this was your only choice, either you have broken down in the car, or there is no room elsewhere in Dijon. There was a lot of noise in the corridors and the other rooms. I don’t think they were noisy guests, just that the walls and doors and insufficient in soundproofing. |We got up and left without eating the next morning and headed for our ferry in Calais 3 hours earlier than intended - we couldn’t bare staying longer than we had to. At one point we did think of leaving and going else where. There is a lot of work needed in this property to bring it up to any kind of basic standard.

I am a big fan of the overall B&B Hotels offer based mainly on price and convenience but disappointed on this stop over at Dijon Nord where the room and bathroom were tired, dated and a bit sad.

B&B flexible bookings are the best option for long journeys where there maybe unexpected delays due to weather or traffic. It’s reassuring to know a reliable and affordable hotel await us. Highly recommended

A super convenient location for travel between Calais and the Alps. Rooms are comfortable. Breakfast was busy and in a small area for an early departure. Good to see so many EV charging bays.

You HAVE to write / mention in the title of the posting of the hotel that you HAVE NO ELEVATOR! It's not recognizable. If you travel with 4-6 large suitcases, realizing this is a catastrophe. I would have never booked the place, if I knew there's no elevator.

The price quality of the hotel is very good, the beds where very comfortable. We went with our dog(extra price of 6 euros/night). The breakfast simple but good. All in all a very good night sleep to be able to continue the journey home the next day.
