The food is prepared with a lot of care. Although the balsamic dressing is a bit over taken the lobster roll. The quality of meat is very good and tender but a bit too salty. It was a very busy night with only two people doing all the service including preparing for the drinks, which made the quality of service down and more time on waiting! This brings down a bit for the overall experiences!

Very welcoming and friendly service with incredible food! Not sure how this is only 4/5 on Google as this was truly a wonderful meal with the perfect ambience for our visit to Colmar. The fries were also (unexpectedly) some of the best we’ve ever had (for real). With it being off the main tourist street it was easy to get a table that would fit our stroller next to it, we are glad we stopped in!

This place feels like a little gastronomic paradise in the heart of Colmar. The beef flank steak was beautifully juicy and cooked just right, full of rich flavor in every bite. The foie gras, served with warm bread, was indulgent yet perfectly balanced. Paired with a glass of local Pinot Noir, it brought the entire experience together effortlessly. A simple yet memorable meal that captures the essence of Alsatian cuisine. A true taste of Alsace at La Maison Rouge.

So happy to have discovered this beautiful restaurant ! what a lovely find in Colmar! The staff were amazing and incredibly helpful, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. The blue crab roll was absolutely delicious, fresh and full of flavor. The plat du jour was simply stunning, with beautifully refined savours that felt both elegant and comforting at the same time. And the croque-monsieur à la truffe? A true belle découverte perfectly golden and crispy on the outside, melting inside, with that subtle, luxurious touch of truffle that elevates everything. To top it all off, it’s dog-friendly! I’ll definitely be coming back.

Came here with my boyfriend for a date night in Colmar. Great food, pork cheek was melting in my mouth, and the cream of asparagus, I could drink a whole bowl! Old man serving us was very polite and friendly, he recommended a great golden Gewurtztraminer wine! Service was a bit slow, that’s the only thing I’ll say!

Overall, the experience was disappointing. Expectations were high given the prices, but both the food and the service failed to meet them. The service lacked organization, with noticeable delays, incorrect dishes, and even a mistake with the water — we ordered sparkling water but were served still water. The main courses were underwhelming. The beef steak was quite tough, the French fries were burnt, and the pepper sauce was watery and lacking depth. In general, the food was average and not reflective of the restaurant’s pricing. Additionally, the staff appeared rather casually dressed, and our cutlery was not changed between the starters and the main courses, which is a basic standard in a restaurant of this level. While there is potential, the overall experience does not justify the cost. With improvements in both service and consistency in the kitchen, this place could do much better.

My wife and I were initially hesitant reading about the service but went ahead with a booking for lunch today anyway from the positive review on the food quality. Firstly, I must say the service provided was immaculate, with attentive and prompt service. Staff were friendly and definitely welcoming. I will go again just for the service I experienced today. Food was worth the visit, with a wine list worthy of mentioning. I have to apologise for the poor picture quality and the occasional impatience to dig straight into the food. I give a double thumbs up 👍 for my lovely lunch today.

Overall a good place. Michelin rating of course puts your expectations high. So a few tips to up your game: Get the cold side of the kitchen some more guidance (knife skills: no chunks of onion! Don’t oversauce: let the meat or lobster be the star of the dish) Get someone extra when busy - so you have a nice workflow and all attention to your guests and details. If someone has a reservation, make sure their table is set upon arrival. Find a different way of motivating people to not only order a starter - a 10€ ‘fine’ is not how you want to communicate with your guests. It’s the small things that separates the great from the average 💪 That all being said: porc cheeks weer really nice in a sticky pinot noir sauce - pate en croute lovely. The Guinea fowl on the kids menu had a cuison to perfection. As the service got calmer our server appeared really kind. Overall - do visit.
