The hotel shows lots of wear and, while they are renovating some of the hallways, the rooms need upgrades as well. There were stains on the carpet, the furniture was dated and room was incredibly small. The worst part of our stay, however, was the heat. We knew the hotel had no air conditioning, but took a chance since we were going in May. Enter an unusually hot May and we were miserable every night as the rooms were sweltering with no way to cool them down. (The little fan they provided did nothing.) That's not the hotel's fault since they state they have no A/C, but it is a reason to consider staying at one of the air conditioned hotels in the area instead. On the plus side, the bar is a great area to gather and meet people and the bartender was excellent. Breakfast was pretty good, but not exceptional. Location is terrific.
Wonderful, comfortable hotel. Great value. Very nice rooms and breakfast. Staff could not be nicer. Everyone is very friendly, and the staff seem to like one another. I loved returning each day after spending three days at D-Day sites following my uncle’s footsteps. I’ve spent quite a lot of time in France both with family and alone. I went alone this time and found Normandy to be a great area, not just for history although Bayeux is very historical. Also a very easy drive to WWII sites.||I was struck with how nice and laid back people are in Normandy. Everyone was very patient with my very rusty French although one can easily get by in English. ||Highly recommend both hotel and restaurant. Thanks to everyone there
Great hotel for the price off season. Clean and basic. Be mindful that their is no lift, and in my opinion, it is not polite to insist to an older woman to carry baggage. I would skip the breakfast as the eggs were cold and ran out in the first 20 minutes that breakfast was open. No one was around to help with breakfast service. There are better places to have breakfast if you can wait until 8 am. The bar and lounge are lovely. However, of my 4 days, only one of the days was there anyone to serve the lounge, and I felt like a burden for even asking for a drink. The dinner was ok but limited and very pricey. However, off season without a car, you're limited for food options around.
Such a beautiful hotel - and very well placed in the centre of the city. The rooms are very comfortable- very big - and nicely heated. The breakfast was really good too, lots of fruit which was perfect for me. The bar downstairs is really interesting- many signed pictures on the wall of those guests who have stayed. Very nice to see. It’s also super close to the train station - you can even walk it from here
Nice central location close to shopping and restaurants. Rooms are nicely appointed with robes, slippers, comfortable beds, quality bath products. The property is quaint and beautiful. The restaurant is excellent. Creative and elegant. The dinner and wine pairing were excellent choices at a reasonable price. Each course was a complex pairing of ingredients creating a flavorful dish. We enjoyed the endive salad, rabbit foie gras, entree's halibut and pork, topped off with the apple dessert. Each was outstanding. The service was attentive, food outstanding, and the evening most enjoyable.
We spent 3 nights here in March 2026, "low" season. They are in the process of building an elevator, but don't currently have one. The restaurant wasn't open two of the three nights we were there (no big deal, but....). The bar was lovely and the bartender great. The water in the shower barely got warm. Breakfast was a nice buffet but pricey. It was a nice hotel, but I'm not sure I can recommend it to others.
This hotel was well priced for such a nice place. We went in the off season, but the hotel and town was still bustling. The hotel itself is located off the main road, which is full of restaurants and bakeries. The cathedral was about a 5 to 10 minute walk, which was great. This hotel was comfortable, with a walk in shower in the bathroom. We did have to walk up stairs to get to the room so if stairs are an issue, call ahead and see if they can accommodate you. We did not eat at the restaurant in the hotel but it is highly rated for those who like fancy food. There is also a nice sitting room with a bar as you first walk in. Very comfortable for our stay in Bayeux. We would definitely stay here again!
Terrific central Bayeux location in a charming and historic hotel with a delightful cosy bar area that feels and smells like the real deal. Great breakfast, very quiet rooms, and very comfortable beds. Staff are friendly|and welcoming and the Michelin starred restaurant looked terrific.
