POTEL DOMINIQUE

After a massive storm whilst riding out motorcycles around europe we had to find somewhere to stay and fast due to the heavy rain. I booked this hotel as it was the closest i could see through my rain soaked glasses. However, it turned out to be ok and the kitchen staff were great as was the Bar Man. Very Clean, underground parking, Cheap enough and quiet. Food was great

Very bizzarre... The restaurant and breakfast area look very nice and modern and then you have rooms where you can't even open the window to get some air so you are suffocating the whole time with ancient air conditioning. The whole room is super small (which in itself would not be a big issue but combined with how hot it is and the fact that you can't open a window it becomes a big issue) and does not look like the pictures... Just really surprised a hotel with rooms like these can be 4 stars. Breakfast is nice, although the choices are limited. Have to note though, staff have been very nice.

It was not a good experience staying here. Room was small, and have limited amenities. Even the lobby was small. Wifi was kept connected without internet when inside the room. (It was fine when in the hallway, which was funny yet frustrating.) Shower place also small. Breakfast was sub standard, too. Choices were limited, and quality was disappointing for a 4 star hotel. Service was also slow, they run out foods for quite some time at the time we visited. The only positive thing is that the bed was quite comfortable.

The rooms are very cramped and not designed very well. Once you open the suitcase there’s no space to move anymore. And there are 2 tables and a big chair to add to it. We stayed in the first room where the flush didn’t work properly. We asked to change rooms and then heating did not work properly. The heating seems to be an issue in this hotel with many people we met who complained about it. TIP for anyone who is reading this review while staying in the hotel: if you’re freezing and want the room to heat up, set the HVAC system to 5 (instead of higher numbers)… at least that seemed to be making the room a little more bearable! The only nice thing I can say about this place was that staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast was good!

Front desk people were courteous, but felt like they were doing me a favor. - First room: safe doesn't work at all. A/C couldn't be felt even when my hand was next to the vent. - Second room: different only because the safe worked. Room was small, but very clean. A little more room would have been ideal, but not much could be done. Service Staff at Breakfast were excellent! Courteous, friendly, helpful. Offered to refill my water bottle without even asking. Very thoughtful. Finally left without checking the bill too much, assuming it was all good. Later, on checking, I saw they had charged me an additional breakfast. Emailed them, and rather than correcting it, they replied saying it is right. Had to finally point out that I was one person, so it would be one breakfast for every night I stayed. Finally they agreed that it was their mistake. Overall, not my best experience at a hotel.

Our stay at the Mercure was amazing. From checking in to check-out all staff were very polite, had a smile and made welcome during out stay. Bar is a bit expensive, though the restaurant was worth it the two times we went. It is a shame both are closed at the weekend. Rooms were clean, comfortable and serviced every day. Didn't hear any noise from fellow guests. Handy USB sockets next to the bed were handy for charging. Bedding was clean, mattress was super comfy. Shower had plenty of hot water available, and showed no sign of mould. Location is fantastic with tram stops are not to far away. Vary large and busy park minutes away and if you want to get to city centre it is a 15-20 minute flat walk with plenty of restaurants, cafe's and bars along the way. We will definitely stay at this Mercure hotel for our next visit to Grenoble.

Their air-conditioning is out of order in the entire hotel, and seems to be out of order for a while. I arrived late in the evening, and hotels around grenoble were fully booked, so I couldn't go elsewhere. They compensate by offering a complimentary water spray in the rooms.

Renovated only for the visual appeal. The core of the building is still the original: -Soundproofing is terrible: you are informed of all the doings of your neighbours, from shower noise through them waking up. -Air conditioning is of last century grade: noisy, limited effectiveness -Bathroom with shower in the bathtub, inimaginable for a modern 4 star hôtel. -Beds are bad: creecking outdated springs A hotel is a place where you seek silence and good sleep, this is not it. There are much better hotels around so pass on this one, althought it looks fancy on picture. One good note: the staff was very friendly, effective and professional
