Avis
A wonderful hotel. We had a great room with an amazing bathroom and very large. There is not elevator in this hotel, just to let you know. It is close to all popular spots and has a nice staff and great breakfast.
A place like this deserves 5 stars, the hotel star rating (3) does not credit the brilliant style of a place like this. Stayed in a tripple room with wife and child. Enjoyed the town and view from the roof top terrace.
Disappointed to say we (family of 3 in 2 rooms) had a bad experience with our favourite Orleans hotel - several previous visits. Disruptive noise on floor above up until 1am destroyed our experience, staff next day not interested. Sad memory now. Andy
Utterly charming hotel close to Orléans´ main thoroughfare. Hôtel de l´Abeille has been family-run since it opened and retains its old school charm and décor. Our room had been tastefully refurbished but featured classic furniture. Staff were without exception friendly and helpful. In an age where every hotel has the same bland appearance it´s really a relief to come across something as authentic as Hôtel de l´Abeille.
The location was a perfect city centre location for us. The hotel had a real “belle époque” charm. The room was comfortable, clean and amazingly quiet considering its location and the metro tram passing nearby - this if anything added to the charm. The hotel had a delightful roof top garden with wonderful views of Orléans Cathedral. We appreciated the good advice about parking and chose to use the underground car park. On our return to the car park we rode the metro tram just for the novelty. The recommendation of eating at L’Escalier was a good choice. Even the stairs to our room were a feature. Very helpful and friendly staff.
Worth the price would sum it up. A comfortable, 1903 quirky hotel with a homage to bees. Lovely helpful staff.
Pretty decent hotel for a short stay (ours was just one night). Very well located for both the old town and the railway station (both of which maybe 250-300m away). Thus ideal for a short break. The downside of our room was the 4-5 flights of steps to it in the loft, though we were warned about this a good 3 weeks prior to out stay. There are no lifts that we saw in the hotel. Not ideal if you are mobility inclined. Possibly because of it being a loft room, the TV reception was pretty poor. Another downside of the loft room was that the shower was only 2 feet from the floor. Probably not the case in the other rooms. On the pus side, our room was very large though you could not fully stand everywhere in the room because of the angles of the ceilings. The staff in reception were pretty friendly and very helpful in terms of letting us know good places to eat etc. Breakfast was okay, but probably not worth the money considering the number of cafes, where we could have got equal options at a cheaper price. The place was clean and tidy and well presented with lots of historic pictures and ornaments. I would stay gain at the price charged, on the basis that the staff were nice and it was well located.
Lovely little traditional hotel in an excellent location. Price was very fait considering it's a very close distance to the main square. Staff were great as was the breakfast. Many thanks.|Room was a little dated and tired in places but it was clean and comfortable. No lift and very steep stairs. We had two rooms on the top floor and it was a bit of a hike with the bags. But they did communicate this before we went which was good and it's no more than you would expect from a historic, traditional property.
