Heard about this place so made sure I tried it out. Arrived just before opening at 7pm without a reservation, managed to get a table and it filled up quick. The food was incredible! Had the anchovies which were raw, fresh and very tasty. Then the pesto linguine which had an amazing aroma and taste. For the main I had the Niçois beef, the meat was fantastic, the gravy was rich and powerful. Had to then have their speciality citron tart which didn't disappoint. Finished with a coffee and accompanied by wine recommended by the waiter. What an amazing experience, one of the best meals I've had. Merci.
Daube de Boeuf is easily no 1 dish that we had in our trip. It might not look beautiful but the taste is unbeatable. The beef was really tender and succulent. You don't event need to use your knife. Don't forget to order the pesto linguine, perfectly Al dente. The service itself was good, servers were friendly. The restaurant is quite small and easily packed, better to reserve first.
One of my favorite meals of the year (2025) we had a dinner reservation and loved the food so much we immediately made a reservation for lunch the next day. This is very simple but thoughtful Niçoise cuisine. The pesto linguine is incredible. We loved the stuffed sardines as well as the fried zucchini flowers and the fried calamari. 100% will be back. The interior of the restaurant is so cozy and we loved sitting inside the next day!
Once again this bib gourmand is worth the visit , for this third generation family bistro. Very cosy and amazing traditional Niçoise recipes based on top quality ingredients . From “Barbajuans” ravioli (stuffed with herbs filling and deep fried ravioli from Liguria recipe originally, to linguine au Pistou (linguini pasta served in traditional Pesto sauce) or a very tasty fried “Rouget de roche“ served with cumin seeds on his crispy skin. I had the most amazing wild strawberry tartelette for pudding, on a light sablé breton and vanilla cream (vanilla creme diplomate) and finely cut tarragon leaves. Very rare to have “fraise des bois” served in a bistro dessert menu.
Overpriced, crowded, loud, bland food. Paper napkins were on the cheap side…Filet your own fish, super small nicois salad, overpriced asparagus €24… very disappointing after having been to 3 other Michelin places near there. Slow service sadly - they try but it’s just not a wow place. Pass.
This is an experience not to be missed! The food was incredible (the Daube de Beouf and Tarte au Citron were real highlights!), the atmosphere was very authentic (not touristy at all) and we can’t wait to go back! Make sure you book in advance. There were people queuing at 22:00 trying to get a table.
This is a wonderful small restaurant. The food is fantastic with a good section of wines. They seem to be one waiter short on the Saturday evening we went ...even in January, restaurant tables full. I might suggest getting there right at 7:00 p.m. and ordering right away. Desserts were amazing, especially the apple tart. The waiters are happy to help with explaining items in English if you don't speak at least restaurant French. Highly recommend.
Super, amazing food. I believe they were short staffed. My tip might be to go on a week night or right at 1900 hours when they open, order food and wine quickly! Excellent wine list. Nice ambience even with close tables. Nice staff. (They may have been short a waiter who had to take care of the whole dining area the Saturday evening we went.). Tarte de pomme dessert was memorable.
