Beautiful museum! Spacious with beautiful displays of paintings, sculptures, and archeological artifacts, located in the historical section of Dijon. I spent three hours here and did not see everything, of course time spent depends on your interest. The staff was very friendly, the cost was free! (Thank you!) Museum hours were wonderful, open until 6:30! Highly recommend!
Some very interesting pieces and places in this museum. I mean look at that person carrying a village / castle block
Amazing museum in an amazing city. The museum is objectively small, only three floors, but what a chic and amazing exposition. I'm not talking about the fact that the entrance is free. This is absolutely and very important for all visitors, especially for those who go with the whole family and who want to join the works of art. And of course many thanks for this to the city. Where I was, I have not seen this anywhere else, it is unique, many thanks to the city for this ones more. Exposition from ancient times to the present day, very good logistics of rooms, very good arrangement of paintings, spacious halls - all this in general is conducive to a calm viewing of the collection. 100% recommendation!
We were greeted by very friendly staff who explained the museum's layout. This museum is large, entry is free, and there are several floors of exhibits to see. The grounds around the museum are picturesque as well. Enjoy!
I visited the museum to see especially Tombeau de Philippe le Hardi. The sculptures are marvelous
The Dijon Museum of Fine Arts is well organised and an example of a must see museum outside of Paris, London, etc. There's everything from beautifully curated medieval art to sculpture to art and photography of the 1900s and 2000s. As a bonus, it's free to enter. Most definitely a not to be missed attraction in Dijon.
Superb museum in a historical setting (palace of Burgundian dukes). What can be better? Well, it’s also free (permanent exhibition). The museum is not too big, so your mind can digest it and the collection is really stunning- starting from Middle Ages right to the XX centuries modernism. Amazing to see all those emotions portrayed by the artists- fear, hate, love, compassion. All this go through centuries of art. Sometimes you can feel yourself in the middle of the battle or a tragic mythological scene. I truly enjoyed this museum.
Great museum in the city center of Dijon. It shows different art centuries in short stories, with some focus on limited numbers of paintings and or plastics. Personally I do miss the overall dedicated storyline and clear focus on. What I like, the entry is for free! Great and Thanks!
