KARVER

We had a small problem with our Karver furler. The swivel and profile in the top were damaged. It was discovered in Suriname during our Atlantic tour. We made a quick fix in Suriname and were adviced by Karver to do a repair in Martinique. The repair was arranged by Karver in Port Le Marin and executed by the local dealer and rigger. It was done very professional and in little time. We are very happy with the service of Karver and as it was within the two years after purchase it was a warranty thing. Top quality and top service.

Bought a top down furler system in 2019. The "fuse" in the base of the furler is very fragile. It has a very thin copper rod through the centre which is what connects to button to the mechanism. This is quite fragile and the button breaks off easily if the unit is knocked. The yellow side plates on the furler and the rotating tack both dropped off after a couple of years. As these retain the locking pin this is a serious problem! The reason is corrosion behind the plates. At this price these components should be build for marine environments and should not corrode. My unit has not been heavily used and has always been thoroughly hosed with fresh water after use. These are overpriced and flimsy pieces of equipment which put look ahead of function. Avoid. I have contacted your customer care department to request a part so that I can repair the equipment - again. I have heard nothing from them.

Personnellement je n’y connais rien en voile mais j’ai un super ami qui travaille la bas. En plus de sa grande compétence, il nous a invité pour le week-end et je peux affirmer que le logement de l’entreprise est génial !
