We only got off and back on the ferry there. It looks a great place to visit and the restaurants in the town are regarded by the locals as some of the best on the island. Parking in the high season is not easy, we tried for over an hour to find somewhere but failed. But out of the main July/August period it should be a bit easier. Great view of the old town and harbour from the sea early morning.

This port is better organized than e.g. Guinea. Easier to find and easier to navigate. Ferries from here to Korsika only take four hours driving time that does not include the time in and off the ferry, so calculate that you have to be there about two hours before departure. It will take about an hour for the ferry to get into the port and before you can drive off.

Can improve but not a bad experience

A great way to arrive to Corsa is via the Port de Bastia. You can sail from Marseille, which is my favorite or Nice, Toulon all have boats going to Bastia. The town itself is wonderful, full of great old bars and restaurants.

No food, not enough toilets during peak season. We do not travel usually by ferries, this was our second time (first time Corsica Ferries cancelled our trip to Bastia from Venice, second time Corsica Ferries cancelled our return journey from Bastia to Savona, so we need to change the provider and bought tickets to Genoa with Moby Lines instead), but compared to Savona here in Bastia you wait 15 minutes in a queue for ladies bathroom and if you do not bring your food, you have to wait till embarkment. After more than 4 hours on the road in a heavy traffic from Bonifacio we decided that this was the last time in Corsica.

The ticket entrance for foot passengers is located as far away from the boat and town centre as possible. If you are standing 100 yards from your ferry on the town side of the railings (as I was), having just had a leisurely cup of coffee in the centre of Bastia, fully expecting to hop on your ferry in good time then you are in for a surprise - you are in the wrong place. A good walk awaits, usually in the sweltering heat - so far away that they have to provide a free bus to get you back to the ferry again. Furthermore, there was no clear signage to tell me I was in the wrong place - not even at the nearby closed (!) ticket hall (ie the one you might think could be used for getting access to the incredibly close ferry) as it is shut and not in use. Totally ridiculous, disorganised nonsense. A poor way to end an otherwise excellent week on Corsica.

The port is ok. The most things are going fast. There is enough space for waiting for the ferries. But there are nearly no shops. There is no shaddow to wait for the ferry. You have to wait in the sun. There is no Wifi. But the 4G signal is good. The town and some cafees are very near but outside of the habour, but you have to walk there, because at the cafes there is no space to park.

Its very nice place.nice flee market which is central of this place.port is huge .things are very costly.french coffee is good.its connectivity with southern corsica is nice.railway station is walkable from the port.must be a great experience.
