We’ve just spent 3 lovely, relaxing days at Le Refuge. Fantastic location, really friendly and helpful staff, good size comfortable room. Breakfast was excellent and plentiful. Good access to mountain walks and an easy drive to Corte centre. Staff very helpful with restaurant recommendations and reservations. Highly recommend and we will return.

Such a beautiful setting but the room was dreadful! Down steps so almost underground, Stank of damp, mould growing everywhere in the bathroom area, dirty floor, outdated furniture, right next door to a noisy kitchen and where the chef or owners liked to have a fag..based on the pots of pot pourri put on our windowsill to disguise the smell. |Bed was surprisingly comfy considering but didn’t dare look under the sheets expect it would be a horror story! |I didn’t have high expectations based on other reviews but accommodation in this stunning valley is very limited and this hotel definitely has the best location but such a shame the owners don’t try and improve their guest experience. The outside area was lovely with tables and loungers right up to the river and direct access to the pools of the river but if you struggle with nightmares, maybe choose somewhere else, there are plenty of places where you can access the river without being a guest here

Simply put heaven on earth! Crystal clear river water you can swim in and amazing views. The staff (especially Jules) when out of their way to make us comfortable. I highly recommend this place! Would absolutely come back and stay for longer.

Only went there for a drink but it was totally worth it. Yes they may not have the most refined ice creams or sorbets but nothing beats this incredible view and stairs going into the river. The pictures speak for themselves. I would happily have stayed one night if I had known how beautiful Corte is.

This is a review about the *restaurant* (we didn't stay at the hotel). We both had the trout and shared the burrata salad and both were perfect. The location is beautiful and peaceful. Highly recommended!

This is a family hotel; people are friendly. The room has airco and is rather big and has a refrigerator to. Very pleasant is the small balcony with two chairs. So you can sit outside even if it is raining (we had a few hours). |The setting of the restaurant is very unique: nearby the river. Hotel guests can sit nearby the river to read a book or so. Very attractive.|The food in the restaurant was good but not very fine. It looks well, but tastes could be better.|We did not have breakfast because we wanted to start early in the morning for a few walks.|

We stayed 3 nights to walk up the the Restonica Valley & other gorges. It’s a great location. The room was perfectly fine, but the bed was not comfortable for us unfortunately. Breakfast was very good with an excellent choice of produce. Our cooked choices were hot enough for us. However, I’m afraid dinner was not great. It depends what you order of course, but we were very disappointed with our food.

We enjoyed four nights in our clean, spacious accommodation. The breakfasts were plentiful and tasty. The evening meals in the on-site restaurant were generous, carefully- presented portions. Veronique, the hands-on manager, and her courteous team were always accessible and amenable. The hotel has a stunning location in the Restonica Valley by the river.
