We could not get a taxi from the train station, so we walked the mile with our luggage. There was a restaurant there, we had heard it was good. But it was 7:45 on a Saturday night and they would not take anymore guests. There was only one other restaurant in the neighborhood. They would not help us get a taxi for our 7:12 train the next morning. They had a list of taxis at the front desk but none of them answered the phone. Unless you have a car, avoid this place. It is a MOTEL. But not a helpful one.

Excellent room, plenty of hot water without having to wait for it and really helpful receptionist. I entended to stay one night, but due to the rail strike stayed an extra one. Happily my room was still available the second night. The receptionist checked train times for me on the computer to set my mind at rest about how I'd be able to continue my journey. She was of great assistance. The hotel was about 25 minutes walk from the town centre. Would've been handier to be nearer, but this wasn't really a problem.

Located at the border town of Hendaye. This hotel probably consists of 2 buildings (atleast). One building is dedicated for restaurant and bar etc. Rooms were satisfactory and tidy. Nothing extraordinary however. Value for money. The breakfast was buffet with loads of options. Plenty of parking. Staff was cheerful and helpful. If I visit this corner of the country, would prefer to stay here.

I went there with my wife and frankly was pleasantly surprised. The room was impeccably clean, heated, the bathroom and shower were great and it was well heated. The service was prompt and efficient and a large parking area. I would definitely recommend everybody who is passing by the area to stay there.

We recently had a very good and impressive stay at the Campanile at Hendaye. The hotel is situated very closely to the main auto route between France and Spain. This makes it the ideal half way house if you are travelling between the two countries.|The deco had been refreshed for the up coming season, which made a change from certain Campaniles situated around France. Ample car parking was available at no extra cost.||But, what made this trip special was the staff, very friendly and attentive to your needs as a traveller. |In these times of covid were emphasis is on self preservation and an avoidance to spread the virus, the hotel scores highly in my book. |The place was spotless. One way routes where needed were well marked out. The hotel was not over crowded, now if that was down to lack of travellers or by a hotel management decision is unknown. Though, Hendaye beach did appear very busy which suggest the latter.||Due to the tight time restraints which we had to apply, sadly we did not use the dining facilities that were on offer at this hotel. Though I suspect that they will be more than acceptable if they are run with the same standards that apply in other areas of the hotel.||Therefore, a very clean well run hotel that treats you as a guest rather than client.

I arrived at Hotel Campanile late at night after a tiring walk from the railway station from the much delayed TGV carrying 30kg of rucksacks.||||Rather than attend to me right away the receptionist, Nicolas, left the desk to speak to some man carrying a bucket.||||Nicolas did not help matters when he returned, insisting that I should pay €5.90 in extras immediately (the room was prepaid) rather than settle the bill with breakfast. He was very clear in his message that I looked like the type who would sneak out without paying.||||Otherwise, the location is perfectly decent, like those old-fashioned motels you see in David Lynch films.||||The room was clean and, needless to say, I didn’t bother with the breakfast.

Friendly staff, however food in the evening was poor and over price. Breakfast adequate and as it was a buffet set up you could eat fairly well. Bedrooms clean and acceptable. would stay there again at a push.

Hotel in the surround of the city it is nearly essential to go by car, free big parking. Confortable rooms and nice personnel, easy to find. Little expensive. With window lids and good noise isolation.
