Phillipe is the most amazing host. The rooms are nice very cosy you get a nice terrace to sit on the pool is fresh but very nice on a hot day the one thing that the rooms are missing is air conditioning but you get fans in the rooms
This chambre d'hote is in an idyllic and peaceful setting just outside Roussillon - either a relaxed 2km walk up into town through the forest (a great start to a days sight-seeing) or an easy drive into town with free parking while there. Comfortable and clean rooms (except our bed was only a double, so a lot smaller than what we had been accustomed to). A patio overlooking the pool was where we had breakfast every morning, and an excellent breakfast it was - fresh croissants, baguettes and home-made cakes, plus juice & good coffee. (The good weather certainly helped make for a memorable le petit dejeuner every morning). Phillipe is the always cheerful and obliging host with a good command of English. Overall, a memorable few days in one of our favourite parts of France.
Love this place! Returning this year again... we stayed in the room Fanny, which we really liked, nice clean bathroom, king-size bed, very comfortable. It is very well located in Luberon, all nice places in short driving distance. Hosts were very friendly and nice, they are speaking fluently English, which is not usual in France so for us, big advantage! Breakfast are highlights of every day - home made jam, astonishing! And the pool is very refreshing after long day of travels... It was perfekt holiday!
very pleasant accommodation in a beautiful environment, the owner was helpful in everything, a beautiful pool - also suitable for families. the location is in the area of orange rocks and you can make many trips around the area, where there are beautiful picturesque villages. if I ever go to this area again, I will stay here again. thanks for all
This is a charming B&B in the Roussillon countryside. Philippe gave impressive service as a host and the accommodations were excellent, especially if you have children (we were 2 couples). We certainly appreciated how attentive Philippe was to our needs while we were there. He arranged dinner reservations for us every night (3, over a weekend and thus more challenging) and persevered with phoning the places we chose until he succeeded. In this regard he was one of the most helpful hosts we have met on our travels over the years. His attention to our requests and making sure our needs were met was outstanding. The continental breakfast was also enjoyable, with homemade jams and cake. Philippe keeps all of the grounds and pool, as well as serving breakfast, so he was always busy yet available. This was a delightful setting for a few slow-paced days in Provence.
My family and I spent three great days and nights in Luberon region. Le Clos des Cigales is a nice guesthouse with accommodations scattered around a nice pool (water was unfortunately too cold late September) in the pinewoods, just 5 minutes drive from Roussillon. Our two bedrooms suite was nice and comfortable. Breakfast is usually served at the patio, but it was a bit chilly early morning, then we got it in room. With homemade jams and bakeries, changing every day, it was a perfect way to start a day full of visits ! Philippe, the owner, is really kind and helpful. Don’t hesitate to ask him tips about excursions or restaurants. Le Piquebaure in Roussillon as Aux Fines Herbes and La Terrasse in Goult were all great advices.
We spent 2 night here and were very pleased. Rooms are large with patios overlooking the pool and grounds. About 5 minutes drive into Roussillon, a very touristy town. We used this as a base for drives into the wine area of Provence. One evening we brought in food to eat on the patio....nice to skip one night of restaurant food. Philippe was very cordial and helpful with directions and suggestions. Breakfast, included, was ample and very tasty. We would stay here again.
My wife and I stayed two nights at Le Clos des Cigales. Philippe is gracious, kind and funny host, and his wife makes these amazing tarts in the morning for breakfast. Our room was comfortable, with double doors opening to a small sitting area facing the pool. It's a beautiful setting about 2km down the hill from Bonnieux. We were interested in renting bikes and Philippe mentioned that the nearby campsite would have them and sure enough, we were able to rent bikes for a day and ride to Apt for Sat. market day. The pool was great after a long day of walking and the grounds very quiet and beautiful. A great location and a very good value.
