Extraordinary hospitality! if you want to be pampered and immerse yourself into 300 years of French history, Chantore is the place to go. Many people stop there on their way to Mont Saint Michel, but I think this chateau is a destination in itself. The gentleman who manage it have used their wonderful taste to restore and decorate this place. The garden is also stunning, plan at least 1.5 hours to visit it as you will be carried away by so many flowers, ferns, centennial trees and wonderful details.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautifully restored chateau. Our room was large and well appointed. The bathroom has been updated with modern fixtures while retaining a historic feel. The house and room is filled with tasteful antiques giving us a sense of what it may have felt like living in the past. ||The property is huge with its own lake, waterfall, horses and peacocks.||Breakfast was delicious and plentiful with perfectly scrambled eggs, ham, freshly baked bread and pastries, gourmet cheese, yogurt. sweet cuts of fruits, homemade jams and juice. ||The owners, Bernard and his partner, are great hosts. Bernard was so attentive, checking on our comfort and eager to please. It is obvious they take great pride in their home and happy to share it with guests. ||It was a unique and memorable experience for us.

What a wonderful experience. Our room was large with large windows overlooking the beautiful gardens. We even had a view of Le Mont St. Michel. The hosts were so eager to please and wanted to share their home and all the fine details of the chateau with us. We enjoyed a walk through the gardens and were fascinated by the horses, baby sheep and swans. Breakfast was wonderful with a selection of delicious teas and homemade apple juice as well as all the eggs, meats and breads that you would expect. Unfortunately our stay was too short but we were treated like nobility throughout. As we left the chateau, the resident peacocks bid us farewell with a full display of their plumage. Absolutely excellent welcome, and atmosphere. Went for a nice walk around the grounds along the well-kept path, and was really surprised to see so much diversity - both in the vegetation, Romantic-Era surroundings (towers, ponds, cave), and wildlife.

We had a 2 hrs superb visit of the Chateau by the owner today and it was very, very interesting. I believe the owner’s name is Bernard - he was so enthusiastic and made our visit feel as if we were living there. Well done, 👍👍👍👍👍🌹🌹

We stayed here on the 1st January, unfortunately only one night. Everything was perfect...the very spacious room, the ancient warming atmosphere, the breakfast with very high quality products (and with two peacocks outside the window). The hosts were very friendly and tried to help us in finding a place were to have dinner (it is not easy in France on the 1st January). We will definitely return, maybe during the spring!

We stayed for 2 nights, but would have stayed more if we knew what this place was like. Bernard the owner lives onsite and runs the place himself with a very personal touch. It has huge gardens, a pond, a paddock with horses, lush grass with peacocks. Yes, their very own peacocks, walking around you as you stroll around the gigantic garden, feeling like an aristocrat. Bernard pursued his dream of renovating and running this old-time chateau and has done a truly excellent job. We wanted to keep this a secret for our next visit, but it's only fair that Bernard gets the recognition for making us feel so warmly received.
