Nice scenery and buildings...good for a little walk, food and gift purchases.
Not nice. The old city and the walk path is ok, but the bay are full of industrial buildings and shop crane.
Very exciting! The harbor with its many boats of all sizes, the mart with people setting up tables to display their wares, the restaurants with their open air tables and menus on display, and the people - all kinds of folks walking along the port. People watching at its finest.
Beautiful small port with many yachts. It has a lot of history since they used to build very big ships here and even huge oil tankers (I recommend to see "La Maison de la construction navale"). In the evening it's even more beautiful and romantic with the pink sky of the sunset. Many restaurants and ice cream shops are available nearby and they all have a great view of the port. You can also see several imposing yachts sometimes since La Ciotat shipyard still does maintenance, refurbishing and sometimes building boats.
Mediterranean coastline, warm weather, beautiful views of nearby islands, nice sunny beaches. A number of good restaurants on the water front and great place to relax and take long strolls.
If you are in La Ciotat on a Sunday, the markets along the main road are a must! There is plenty of parking along the whalf but you must arrive around 10am to get a park. parking is cheap, 2 hours for 4.50€. At the markets there are clothes, fresh produce, hot food (pizza, rotisserie chicken), jewelery and much more. We have been twice and will definitely return. Stall holders are lovely and most speak some English, but give French a go if you can!
Very nice stopover in central la Ciotat. Friendly, helpful and efficient service and welcome.
Nice harbour, lors,of rrstaurants and cafes. Also authentic boats
