We have stayed at the Hotel Meurice 4 times now before crossing back to the UK on the ferry or train. I can not rate this Hotel high enough.|1. Staff at this Hotel and the friendly, helpful and make your stay that much better.|2. The Hotel decor is second to none. |3. The rooms in the old part of the hotel are very traditional with a modern twist. The rooms in the newer part of the hotel are clean bright fresh.|4. The breakfast has everything you could ever need for a perfect start to the day.|5. The position of Hotel Meurice in Calais is perfect for either the ferry or tunnel. Calais shops and restaurants are only an easy walk away.
We absolutely love this hotel - we're frequent visitors to Calais and when we want to treat ourselves to something special, it's always the Meurice. Staff are extremely friendly and welcoming, the decor inside is fantastic - very classy whilst not pretentious, and the bar is simply a delight. Breakfast is excellent quality and fantastic value for money. Oh and the rooms are great too, we had a "Deluxe" room which is well worth the extra, the bed is one of the comfiest I've ever slept in. Already looking forward to our next visit.
Our 6th visit and we wouldn't stay elsewhere now in Calais . Beautiful hotel, comfortable , with exceptional staff! So welcoming . Dog friendly with secure parking and a great breakfast! Great value , comfort in plush surroundings
.This hotel is conveniently located for passengers travelling via the Dover ferry terminal, which can be reached within just a few minutes by car. As parking options in the surrounding area are quite limited, booking a space in the hotel's underground garage is highly recommended. That said, accessing the garage is not particularly straightforward. Guests must contact the hotel upon arrival so that staff can remotely open the entrance gate, which can be somewhat inconvenient. The property does not have its own restaurant for evening meals, although a number of dining options can be found within walking distance. The guest rooms are functional but noticeably dated, with visible signs of age and use. While the hotel serves its purpose well for a short stopover, those seeking a more modern or upscale experience may find the accommodation somewhat underwhelming.
I have been staying at Hotel Meurice since I was a baby, over 30 years now! It has always been a pleasant stay, and as a child it was magical. A couple of years ago, on my last visit, I was able to share that magic with my own three children. The hotel is well located, easy to find, underground secure parking is available, but the street parking is also easily accessible. The rooms are always clean, the hotel is full of character and the breakfast is lovely. The staff are all very pleasant and the breakfast is tasty. I look forward to my next visit.
Great location, very close to the centre of Calais and within minutes walking of the restaurants. About a 20 minute walk to the beach, and again loads of bars and eateries along the way. The Hotel is clean and well presented, the staff are friendly and helpful with local knowledge. There is on street parking right outside the hotel, and we have used the hotel for several years now and never had a problem with the on street parking. The breakfast is of a high standard and very reasonably priced. I have done a few reviews of The Meurice over the last few years, and credit where it’s due… a great place to stay in Calais.
The hotel is a good option for travelers using the ferry to Dover, as it is only a few minutes' drive from the port. Parking in the area is limited, so it is worth reserving a space in the hotel's garage. However, accessing the garage can be quite challenging, and you need to call the hotel to have the gate opened.||The hotel does not offer dinner service, but there are several restaurants nearby. The rooms are showing clear signs of wear and tear, so it is best not to expect too much.
We had a quick overnight trip to Calais and stayed at this fabulous hotel. The staff were all fantastic, particularly Emily. The breakfast is amazing, it's the first hotel in France we've found to offer full English which was delicious along with all the other food that was on offer. The bedrooms were very well appointed, comfortable, clean, and nicely decorated. We look forward to visiting again.
