An amazing serendipity! Unfortunately Google maps took us to a road below the Abbey so we parked in the grass and walked up a marked but very rudimentary pedestrian access. It was a long hike and a very hot day for the two of us in our mid-70s. But the Abbey is amazing in its completeness for something originally built in 1450! The church is well restored albeit very bare, and the abbey itself is even furnished with rudimentary furniture. Someone has poured a lot of love and money into this project. It was odd because it was not a single other person anywhere in sight. It's well worth a visit and a contribution, especially if you can figure out how to get there by road!
Lovely abbaye, non touristic and the lady running the place is very very nice. A truly hidden gem. 1000% recommended
I liked it a lot. Though, it is not super polished, but rather work in progress. I think this makes it even easier for me to imagine how the monks lived there hundreds of years ago. Don't forget to pick up one of the guide sheets at the entrance of the church.
This place is beautiful!! Be careful coming down the road towards it as it can be very bumpy, however it is worth it when you get to the bottom 😊
Quiet, not crowded. Perfect for reflections and prayer. Well preserved and sensational views
A beautiful, tranquil place with extraordinary history.
Interesting ancient abbey. A few artifacts, some things in English as well as other languages. Very quiet. Worth the worn road down to the right side. There was another parking area, but we didn't go there.
Lovely private experience away from the tourist crowds.
